ok, i'm in 208m right now and i don't understand this stuff at allis there any difference between between the regular 208 and M&I?(as in, would one be easier to understand)

Not that I know of.Welcome to Bruce Sherwood's & Ruth Chabay's favorite wet dream. edit: They can both lick my nuts for coming up with such a terrible curriculum.[Edited on January 22, 2007 at 1:49 AM. Reason : ]

All I could suggest is try scale-up, but it's still classified as M. But that shit is really not that hard and the concepts will be the same in any 208, so if that's the issue I don't think another section would change anything.

N is the traditional approach. IMO much easier to understand.

M is the scale up and is more "hands-on" approach I took it and passed but didnt really learn much when it comes to actual physics..but i did learn about like electricity and magnetism. basically the whole course is about electricity and magnetism just like the book says. From what i heard, N is traditional and you do more of the high school physics..such as: rock falls from such height for a period of time...find blah...and shit like that

^PY208 is going to be electricity and magnetism with optics whether you take M or N. The only difference is the manner in which it is taught.

I have Sherwood right now for 208M, it is not bad at all.......just the webassign is a pain sometimes, getting ready to try try the lab. The material isnt all that bad, just get a study/homework partner.

^ which shouldnt be that hard considering you're sitting in tables of 7 or so...and are put into groups within the table

^ not following you.......you mean the labs? The way they are doing labs is interesting, with the assigned roles.....you need to know the material fairly well to participate.

^^ referring to getting a study buddy

jpark10, you're a fucking retard. There are still plenty of lecture sections of PY208M, the M refers to a textbook and a certain teaching style of working up from fundamental principles. There are only like two sections of 208M that use the 'scale-up' version of the class, as a matter of fact it looks like the only Physics doing 'scale-up' versions this semester is PY205M.[Edited on January 25, 2007 at 5:12 PM.
