My brother's computer is only playing back sound out of one speaker. I went through and looked at all the sound settings to make sure it wasn't just set to the right. Everything is straight. Could it be a sound card issue? looking for suggestions.

^ lol

check the connection coming from the soundcard.. it may look plugged in but may not be making a solid connection. Move it around, unplug it and plug it back in..

the 1/8" connector is notorious for having this problem.
