Oh hell yes.
1/12/2007 2:36:28 PM
I really think they'll start pumping these out now that people in the music industry have realized that A) it's a guaranteed profit and B) the development team isn't going to butcher their songs (other than "Search & Destroy").
1/12/2007 2:41:34 PM
The platform is already in place. You would assume that these sequels would start coming out at a faster rate.
1/12/2007 2:43:51 PM
According to EGM, some bands require the cover of the song to sound different from the original.
1/12/2007 2:52:51 PM
I don't doubt it, but in the case of "Search & Destroy," I think the shredders doing the game couldn't put themselves in the mindset of just sort of thrashing at the guitar instead of playing succinct rhythms.
1/12/2007 3:29:05 PM
having never played the game and only seeing my friends play it a few times, i did notice that "Search and Destroy" sounded absolutely horrible

Go go gadget solid-state!

I know I know that GH is coming out for XBOX 360 in April but is there any way to get it for old school XBOX??? I haven't seen anything online about availability for the old system...
2/18/2007 10:22:04 AM
no, there is no support for the old xbox nor will there ever be.
2/18/2007 10:27:14 AM
in that case i'll give someone on here a case of busch light and my girlfriend for a ps3
2/18/2007 11:07:21 AM

5/10/2007 11:02:05 AM
If they don't release this as downloadable content for the 360 I will be one pissed off motherfucker. And more than that, if they don't release this as a seperate game (with seperate achievements/goals/whatever) on the 360 I will be pissed. As the article says, there's no reason no to.]
5/10/2007 11:11:11 AM
Yeah I don't see why they wouldn't release this for the 360 as well. I know GHII didn't come out too long ago, but they're going to move units regardless. They should have released GHI for the 360 as well for $50-$60 instead of making us try to download all the old songs.I would even be ok with them releasing the 360 version a month later, that wouldn't bother me too bad.Now back to playing GHII, haha.

5/10/2007 1:05:37 PM
Maybe we'll finally get some Metallica(btw, the Killing in the Name of cover in GH2 was pretty bad)
5/10/2007 3:03:10 PM
5/10/2007 3:32:28 PM
Dio FTW
5/10/2007 5:34:18 PM
jesus, this fucks up guitar hero in my opinion
5/11/2007 1:54:06 AM
I think it's awesome. And I was personally outraged at the butchering of Ziggy Stardust on GH1.
5/11/2007 2:52:25 AM
I am down with all of these choices. They're fun, which is something a lot of the songs in GH2 were not, either because of being too hardcore metal for the general audience, or just terrible fucking translations ("Heart-Shaped Box" & "Search and Destroy": attention GH developers, the Stooges didn't play in perfect fucking meter, and there's no big solo in HSB; if you can't get it right, don't bother). All the little runs in "I Want Candy" are entertaining as hell.
5/11/2007 3:58:40 AM
gotta be honest this is a weak list IMO. where's poison and all the rest of those guys? metallica? (though they probably wouldn't give a dang thing to help out considering they're copyright freaks)... idk just seems like they should be getting bigger names... i mean.. AC/DC anyone?
5/11/2007 4:28:43 AM
HOW DARE YOU COMPARE THE ONE AND ONLY DIO TO POISON
5/11/2007 6:29:05 AM
^^obviously those are the only 7 songs on the disc
5/11/2007 8:38:45 AM
^^^
5/11/2007 8:50:47 AM
5/11/2007 9:51:33 AM
I understand that, but there's a difference between the small embellishments in song like "You Really Got Me" versus adding entire sections that never existed. I never thought HSB was a good choice for GH, and I don't think that any song that's not riff-based is a good choice, either. "Monkey Wrench" is a damn good song, for instance, but it's no fun to play on GH, because it's not riffy like "Frankenstein" or "Carry On Wayward Son."I think the negative response to the overall song selection in GH2 is going to inform the choices for the subsequent games in a positive way.
5/11/2007 10:03:10 AM
i think "Monkey Wrench" is one of the most entertaining songs to play on the gameon expert, you don't have a second to breathe
5/11/2007 10:14:03 AM
That's one of the problems. You don't have a second to breathe, but it's just hammering down two note lines, nothing with rhythm or flow.It also doesn't help the fun factor that it's a million times harder to play on GH than it is on a real guitar; the main riff on a real guitar is one finger only and everything else is power chords (and some hammer-on power chords at that). To each his own, I suppose.

Wow. Tons of cover songs in this version. That kinda sucks. So far the only announced songs that aren't covers are I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister & I Ran (So Far Away) - A Flock of Seagulls. Everything else is a cover.
6/11/2007 10:02:33 AM
All of the songs (aside from the bonuses) in GH and GH2 are covers, there's no reason to get disappointed just because there are some masters in GH3.
6/11/2007 3:28:55 PM
Two more announced:What I Like About You (as made famous by The Romantics)Ballroom Blitz (as made famous by Krokus)

HOLD ON LOOSELY!I've been hoping for some more southern rock and this is a good start, I can't wait for that one.
6/12/2007 4:27:27 PM
^^ The point is that we never had any before, and they're good enough that complaints about them are rare.
6/12/2007 5:14:24 PM
Yeah, before I looked, I would have thought that 30-40% of the songs in GHII were originals. I didn't realize there were only 4. I guess it's just that the ones that stand out as covers REALLY stand out. but I read somewhere that they were contractually obligated to make them different. I just hope there isn't a lot of that in this new version.
