If you need something done and are willing to pay for it to be done let me know. Mowing grass, baby sitting, kitchen/bathroom cleaning. Almost anything nonsexual, I can handle. Please PM if you have anything you need done.

No degree yet, and not selling drugs. I just need to make a quick $100, legally. If there is a place that buys non-textbooks that is an option. However I would like to hold on to my DVD's and CD's.

Then you're not really an alumnus? I'm confused.

Don't banks issue emergency loans for this sort of thing? Or don't credit card exist for this sort of thing?

Hey my car just ran out of gas and I'm trying to get my family back to Greensboro. Is there any way you could help me?

Or what ever the hell that scam is.

Sex : M

Do you really think there is a threat of someone wanting to pay to have sex with you?

And Alumnus means you got a fucking degree. Stop using that term.

You'd be surprised, and I apologize for the confusion. I have a degree just not from state yet.

No

As was pointed out earlier it can mean anyone who went to the university, and according to dictionary.com it can also mean an associate or former employee of said university

Craigslist worked a lot better. Already have two jobs lined up (insulating a garage and planting rhodendrums), not surprising the differences in responses between the two sites.

I might have to do that nerdchick, any idea on the name of the place or contact info or where exactly it is? I'm not too familiar with the area. As in any sales type endevour you get the most success by getting in front of the most people. While this website is mostly broke college students there is a small group of young professionals who post on here as well. I was also hoping that those same broke college students would be able to come up with ideas to make a quick buck that didn't have to do with selling any of my property (except maybe books). I didn't know about selling plasma, so technically this thread was a success.

"sell clothes to plato's closet."

That can definitely get you part of the way there, I've made a quick buck at the plato's closet in crossroads in cary before.

^

sorry to hijack a thread but how's it work with Platos closet? Ive got some old shirts and stuff that are in good condition. What do they generally pay for shirts and maybe some old jeans that are in good shape?

thanks

I don't remember many specifics, I just remembered after graduating last year, while moving over here to chapel hill/Carrboro, I didn't want to carry all that stuff over, so I sold alot of what I owned there... especially since I was getting a full time job now and didn't need left over clothes from high school still in my wardrobe. I just remember being pleased with the amount I got for what I brought in. They don’t accept everything, they usually go for name brands even if they are old clothes, but they will take good shape things that aren’t name brands too. I was excited because I just found one on the west end of durham near chapel hill the other day… so it’ll be nearby when I move again in about 5 years.

^ from my dealing with them the clothes have to:
1) basically be new
2) the current fashion year or very close to it for a given clothing maker
3) trendy brand names
4) very low sums of money offered (I think I got 3 or 4 bucks each for some RL polo's I didnt like/didn't fit).

They turn around and sell them for 10 or 12 dollars.

ive bought clothes there for like $3 before

i've got a friend who has a baby, so their spending budget is pretty low, so they used to stop by plato's closest whenever they were in town. i never knew of the place until i started accompanying them occasionally.

I think it’s a cool concept… and having a philosophy degree and all makes me fond of the name.
