Turn on text anti-aliasing for the buttons at the top and the News/Media/Information image header also doesn't fit properly in the rounded box.Otherwise, it's a lot better

^^I agree. Also the very top nav looks extremely out of place. Needs some work there to make it belong to the same design style. Very top heavy design, but overall well laid out.The rounds on the News/Media/Info header don't match and it's kind of anxiety inducing,Also the footer text should vertically align and align left with the three content columnsThe rounded edges of the bottom columns seem a contrasting style to the top half and dominant design elements of the page. Might consider just making the bottom columns squared off too, but I do like the fade to white, it gives a definition to the heading and extra whitespace to the text below it.Who did the new design? It looks like a familiar style to me, but I'd like to know for sure.

You might recognize it from one of the NCSU designed templates. It's a cut up and altered version of "action". I'm writing the behind the scenes stuff. Tom Krupa (not to be confused with Tom Karches) designed it. I agree the quick linkes rounding is a bit out of place, which will probably change over time. I've spent most of my effort voicing my objection to the other two concepts. Here take a look. http://cvm.ncsu.edu/testFolder/tom/The decision to go with the comp-2 version was made Friday of last week. There's been a tremendous amount of behind the scenes work that had to be done and figure out if I was going to use tools already made or if I needed to write my own. There's a lot of seperation issues between CVM and main campus that I've found was not a good idea to tread upon. They don't like to play with others when it comes to data storage and hosting.

i've just given up trying to base anything i'm doing on the ripple effects nc state stuff until they figure out exactly which direction they're going in

We were pressured into moving foward with the front page because the "Dean was tired of looking at cows". Which is one of many reasons but the funniest I thought. I went by the best measurement I could by reading the blogs and comments posted in the threads on TWW as well as listening to faculty. Action was the obvious choice. So we modified it, reorganized it for our needs, and walla. I personally liked action the best so it was I was very happy with the choice. BigMan157I did show your modifed page to people at CVM but they didn't like the style of the original at all and it didn't "do it" for our frontpage in the eyes of everyone involved. I liked yours a LOT more than the rainbow bright special it was before.
