No Meachem though. Ainge isn't dumb enough to try to is he?V They have a really good supply of RBs though maybe some can go to WR like Blackman has for us.[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 12:21 AM. Reason : V]
1/8/2007 12:15:30 AM
yeah, Meachem hurts, but it was a given. Best season ever at WR U, you arent going to get much better. We are actually losing our top 3 WRs, so some young players are going to have to step up big time. And no way Ainge goes early, needs another year.
1/8/2007 12:17:41 AM
defense will be good, esp with Jared Mayo at LB, hes nasty, and that freshman lbthat played last week against psu
1/8/2007 12:41:12 AM
^^^ not really on the RBs switching to WR. Foster's gimp ass is too damn slow, Hardesty's hands are ok at best, Coker is needed at RB. Lucas Taylor and John Briscoe will be the leading returners and they are just average.

big news today on saturday, Trooper Taylor, one of the best recuiters in the country, decided to stay. Texas tried to get him a few years ago and Howard wanted him to be their head coach.

I think the UF/UT game is a tossup since the Gators have to replace most of the defense. Not to mention a lot of changes on the offensive side. I can see it going either way, it'll be a fun and loud one to be at though .[Edited on January 28, 2007 at 1:22 PM. Reason : lol, internet]

^^^^ and ^^ fags^ I dont know, I think Florida has them unless Tebow is a bust and/or gets hurt...who is the backup after him?
1/28/2007 2:32:38 PM
I have to agree that the UF-UT game will be a real battle, even in The Swamp. With UF's defense being young and untested (with only games against W. Kentucky and Troy before the Vols come to town), this could be a shootout like the ones in the Shuler/Wuerffel/Manning days (scores of 41-34 in '93, 62-37 in '95 come to mind).
1/28/2007 5:10:56 PM
Yeah I agree with you on one hand Jaybee (not to mention I'm biased), but that will be Tebow's first "real" game as the starting qb...so who knows, but he has a pretty good amount of experience in big games/high pressure situations already...The backup will be one of the new recruits Cam Newton or John Brantley...I dont know who'll win that battle.

Got a decent safety commit, Nevin McKenzie, 3-star. Really need him since Morley's dumbass failed out of school. Now really need to get at least 1 of 3 WRs (all three would be nice):Dwight Jones, 5-star (4th in country), committed to CH but now is reconsidering between UT, CH, and Clemson. He is a beast, 6'5", 210lbs.Markish Jones, 4-star (28th in country), committed to Clemson for a while now, but now says that its 50/50 between UT and ClemsonAhmad Paige, 4-star (14th in country), was committed to FSU but dropped them after the coaching chagnes, now down to USC, Florida and UT

yeah, him and Markish both said that they didnt realize the top 3 WRs for UT were leaving. That, with Ainge being a senior, could be a golden opportunity for an incoming WRdamn, depressed now after looking at our offense during the Manning era...in 1996 we scored 62,35,29,41,29,20,31,17,55,56,14,4897: 52,30,20,31,38,38,22,44,30,59,17,30,1798: 34,20,42,17,22,35,49,37,28,59,41,24,232005: 17,7,30,27,14,3,15,21,20,24,27 (sigh)[Edited on January 29, 2007 at 4:47 PM. Some of those teams were complete shit....but a decent amount of those teams that UF put a bunch of points on in 96, and in a few in 95 (UT/Arkansas/Auburn) were far from shitty teams. Ahmad Paige update:Sterlington, Louisiana (Sterlington High School) wide receiver Ahmad Paige was one of the few Americans on Sunday who did not watch the Super Bowl. Paige missed the biggest football game of the year making his way back home from his official visit to Southern Cal. Paige will declare and sign Wednesday morning. The 6-foot-3, 175 pound Paige left Los Angeles at 3pm est. Sunday afternoon and arrived in Jackson, Mississippi just as the Super Bowl ended to make the 90 minute drive home."It's a long trip," Paige said from the Jackson airport. "The distance from home is the biggest factor to overcome with Southern Cal. I am going to sit down with my parents, go over things and make the best decision for me where ever that is."And it appears that it is either going to be in Los Angeles or in Knoxville."Tennessee, Florida and Southern Cal are my final three," Paige said. "But honestly, Tennessee and Southern Cal lead."Obviously, the school freshest on Paige's mind is Southern Cal and he left the west coast more impressed than he thought he would be."It was a fun trip," Paige offered. "LA is different, I had never been there. The toughest thing was adjusting to the time change. When I got there on Friday, I went straight to the hotel and went to bed, but after I got adjusted it was fun. Southern Cal's offense is a lot like Tennessee's in the way they use their receivers. And like Tennessee, they are losing a lot of receivers so there is a chance to play early."Rivals.com ranks Paige as the 14th best receiver nationally and a four-star prospect.
