easyforward your ncsu mail (but leave a copy on the server) to the address you setup with blackberry's portal for whatever provider you havemake the return address in the blackberry account your ncsu emailprofit.

you dont even need to do the forwarding rule. blackberry's internet service (webclient) can handle the @ncsu.edu addresses.but ^ that will work too!!IMAP4 ??[Edited on January 5, 2007 at 5:10 PM. Reason : .]

I recently had to help a professor get his BlackBerry set up to communicate with NCSU mail servers. The cell carrier that you use is irrelevant, because your BlackBerry is ultimately going to communicate with RIM's servers to get your mail.I believe that RIM's 2.0 Internet service (not sure about the exact name), allows for POP, IMAP and Exchange connections. The one issue that we've found, in our testing, is that sometimes you have to know the actual name of the server where your mail is stored. For example, if your Unity ID is "jbsmith," we tell you that your mail server is "jbsmith.mail.ncsu.edu". That's actually an alias for a real mail server, say uni30map.unity.ncsu.edu.Let me know if you'd like to know more specifics.

here is how i have it setup for my blackberry. Suncom is my provider if that makes a difference.Email Account: unityid@unityid.mail.ncsu.edu Your Name: (however you want it to appear when you send email)Email: unityid@unity.ncsu.edu (***notice its @unity. NOT @unityid as above)Unityid: (self explanatory)password: (self explanatory)if this doesnt work for you, just give the NCSU computing department a call at 515-HELP. when i got my blackberry over the summer, i called them up and they were very helpful---i was sending/receiving email in minutes.[Edited on January 6, 2007 at 11:11 AM.
