Cascade 7 cascade 9100-20k Hz 80-20k Hznot to mention no place around here carries them and i'm not buying speakers i can't demo first especially when they don't even play to 50hz w/o a sub talk about a strong mid.i do like the infinity beta series though.
1/1/2007 6:33:48 PM
Who buys 1k-1.5k in floor standing speakers but doesnt have a stand alone sub?
1/1/2007 8:51:02 PM
yeah i think those infinity speakers are definitely designed with a modern surround setup in mind[Edited on January 1, 2007 at 9:13 PM. Reason : but even then they dont look that good on paper][Edited on January 1, 2007 at 9:14 PM. Reason : hey what model yamaha do you have sumfoo?]
1/1/2007 9:09:01 PM
They used yamaha i'm debating between denon and yamaha as i want hdmi 1080 pass through (i'll still uses a separate digital audio connector)http://www.crutchfield.com/S-mRSuU41RyVw/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=10420&I=033AV2807Borhttp://www.crutchfield.com/S-mRSuU41RyVw/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=10420&I=022RXV1600
1/1/2007 10:49:41 PM
I would say either one of those would be good. The yamaha is on sale right now so if you are buying now I would go for that. But if you are planning on hooking up a bluray or HDDVD player you might want to wait and get a reciever that can decode DTS-HD and dolby digital plus.

i have some old infinity floor standers, RS-5 i think is the model. bass heavy as balls which isnt very inviting for music but they make good action movie left/rights and are cheap used.[Edited on January 2, 2007 at 6:08 PM. Reason : .]
1/2/2007 6:08:21 PM
Look at Klipsch reference. You should be able to get two RF-7 or RF-5's for 1k-1.5k. and easily two RF-82 speakers for 1k.
1/2/2007 6:33:24 PM
whatever you do, don't get a bunch of different random shit. whatever you start with, get that same series for your whole setupalso, it looks like you are interested only in speakers with alot of bass. You will be much happier getting some good bookshelf speakers and a good sub, especially if you are going to eventually do 7.1.[Edited on January 2, 2007 at 8:09 PM. Reason : .]
1/2/2007 8:06:18 PM
I do not want to have to have a $600+ sub to make up for poor speakers to start with right off the bat.I'll eventually go get one. I honestly just want a balanced POWERFUL FULL RANGE set of speakers.
1/2/2007 8:35:46 PM
lol, i tried[Edited on January 2, 2007 at 9:43 PM. Reason : you are probably going to need about 1k for a good sub]
1/2/2007 9:43:25 PM
there used to be a place on independance across the street from target that carried really high end stuff... not sure if they are still there, but that was a fun place to check out from time to time...they can probably help you out if they are still around...I personally understand Audiophileness... trust me I do... nothing like something loud as balls but so clean it can make you cry... but it always should be a question of "how much am I going to use this"... and how much really matters... b/c once you get it into your home you'll be surprised at how different a speaker can sound... Also you get the joy of discrediting MP3's... they never sound bad... but they don't make your spine tingle like the real CD-Audio version... Loby seen of the matrix or the beach landing of Saving Private Ryan are phenominal ways to demo a system... Fanfare for the common man and metalica unforgiven or Nothing else matters are my favorite audio tracks for picking speakers... all of these selections will make your senses go CRAZY on an awesome setup...and I dissagree about the not mixing sets... certain speakers will fit different needs of your room better than others and they might not be from the same series...

↑ ↑ yeah i know...i'm thinking about it.... what would you recommend for bookshelf speakers ?they would fit better in the house being that i have bookshelves in my living room.↑ I really appreciate it. thanks[Edited on January 2, 2007 at 10:02 PM. Reason : .]

Go to Audio Advice and talk to Ivandood knows his shit. And he's hysterical. If greg is there you'll get Ivan and greg confused. Ivan looks like a greg, and greg looks like an Ivan.^ You go listen to best buy's setup then go to Audio Advice and listen to a set of low end speakers they carry. $400+ish. You'll hear the vast difference. It's not something small, it's huge. Then go listen to the state of the art and you'll wet yourself. I'm NOT an audiophile but I could hear the differences.[Edited on January 5, 2007 at 2:28 PM. Reason : !]

PARADIGM....enough said

Understood.Although the alledged harshness of the horns in Klipsch towers has in my experience been 100% attributed to amplifier quality - most don't have the sensitivity to supply a clean enough signal. The Klipsch horn is an incredibly agile and revealing driver - imperfections are therefore more pronounced and thus the stigma "a bit harsh."Never said they were the best ever - IMO that would be Wilson Audio or perhaps Martin Logan - but they are the best for the price range you mentioned.Anyways, assuming your amplifier rig doesn't suck (ie - if you still have that Yamaha, never mind), then give strong consideration to these:http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-RF-7-Speakers-Brand-New-Black-Color-1-Pair_W0QQitemZ140070060381QQihZ004QQcategoryZ61378QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
