Whatever you've got. Prefer at least low-end decent componentry like Shimano and whatnot. Prefer reasonably decent extruded alloy wheels, cranksets, bottom brackets, hubs, etc.

I don't care how old, as long as it's serviceable stuff. Mountain bike or road bike, I don't really care.

yeah, i really want to build a shifter kart one day. this one just had a 5hp briggs i did a little work on. it'd run 35-40mph, PLENTY fast enough for a flimsy lawnmower frame, sloppy steering, and a half ass brake.
