Basically, I took the computer completely apart to clean every bit of dust I could get to.I get 'er back together, and now it doesn't want to boot WinXP. I have a RAID 1 array, and I unplugged everything (drives too), but I made sure to plug everything back the same. The only difference is that I put my memory in the other two slots (not the same slots as before; easier). Now it doesn't seem to recognize the boot sector of either my array or the other WinXP install on another hard drive (the old one).I booted from my WinXP CD and fixed the master boot record of each drive via recovery console, and everything booted up fine. Today, however, back to the old shenanigans. Do i need to rebuild my RAID array or something?

to my knowledge, it's always bad news when you fill memory slots out of order (slot 1 needs to be filled before slot 2, etc.)since you took it all apart to clean it, i suggest reseating everything, and putting it all back exactly as it was before...it could just be a simple loose connection[Edited on December 26, 2006 at 11:10 PM.
