and not to run windows on an xbox but so you can build a computer from scratch and load windows xbox on it and have it be compatible with xbox games and devices or to turn my old computer into an xbox (cause the stats are still better even though i'm getting a new one)

then no one would buy xbox's and windows xbox would lose reliability because now they'll have to add driver support for 10000's of different hardware components like graphics cards, sound cards, processors etc etc etc....

well doesn't anyone else feel dumb paying 400 bucks for a 200 dollar computer that can play xbox 360 games?

The whole point of the xbox was to create a PC with standard specs so developers wouldn't have to write games for such a broad spectrum of hardware. That being said, microsoft is trying to make Vista be a lot more gamer friendly. They're making sure all the wireless Xbox 360 controllers work on PCs and there's a lot more emphasis on gaming with windows and the new version of Direct X. It's still much harder for developers to make games that look amazing on high end pcs but still can run decently on lower end models.^That response was straight up moronic btw]

Are you talking about 360 or Xbox? You'd need one cutting edge PC to run 360 games on PC.

but a 360 isn't all that cutting edge its the emulator and background programs that take up all the performance

granted, but you dont buy a 360 to emulate regular xbox games (hopefully).
