Hello.....I hate ece but only have about 15 credits left with a fucked up major gpa. Has anyone ever changed their engineering concentration successfully that late into the program. Im basically looking to concentrate in a business/i.t field and have discussed the possiblity with faculty but noone knows how it works. Is there an engineering degree with a concentration in business/i.t, or any other fuckin field that will allow me to finish without having to take those demon ece classes??? PLEASE HELP ME. p.s if there isnt any fuckin option but my ece classes please list the easiest senior electives in ece. just pm me is its like some secret need to know basis type deal.

Industrial engineering is going to be the closest you can get to engineering+business...lean manufacturing, setting up factories, etc. There are no easy senior ECE electives.

Have you cooped or interned yet? If you haven't, do so and see if you still dislike ECE as much. Beyond that, my recommendation would be to finish out your ECE classes and pick up a second major. You'd be in school for a second year (including summers) and could spread your ECE electives out so they didn't kill you. You mentioned an interest in IT ... the "(BS) BUSINESS MANAGEMENT-INFO TECH CONC" looks like it requires 30-40 hours beyond your ECE degree to complete. You could also finish your ECE degree and go for an MBA with a concentration in IT.Your best bet would be to talk to some neutral folks outside the ECE department. I'd recommend with Virtual Advising (aka wolfeee): http://www.ncsu.edu/advising_central/. They should still be around this week ... don't let this wait until next semester starts.[Edited on December 19, 2006 at 1:43 PM. Reason : .]
