I'm installing a radio later today in a 99 S70 Volvo and was wondering if there was anyone on here who has done any similar work in this make/model car before. The person (she) bought the car from Crutchfield, and so apparently it came with the kit the harness and a 800 number in case you get stuck. The reason I'm posting is to find out before hand if there's anything I may run into while installing this.Thanks.

If you have the Crutchfield kit, all you'll have to do is plug the thing in and roll.

I'm sure that once I get everything out of there, it should be a breeze. I guess more specifically I'm wondering if there is anything I need to know about removing that big center dash peice...?

that does not look like the dash of a '99 S70 Volvo....i don't recall offhand but the radio should have 2 push-in vertical slots in the upper left and right corners about, push them in with a penny or something and 2 loops should pop out, then just pull the unit straight out.... after that? this could only be for the 850 series but i think it still holds true for the s70[Edited on December 19, 2006 at 12:27 PM. I googled "99 s70 volvo, dash" and then clicked on images... I went back and looked at the photo again and you're right... it's a 2002 land rover discovery... google did it... I haven't seen the car yet, but that seems pretty easy.[Edited on December 19, 2006 at 12:45 PM. Reason : .]

The green oval on the steering wheel would probably have been a clue.
