Recently I rented a room to a guy from NCSU. Found him via the wolfweb "Dragonis, Michael Glapion". It turned out to be a complete nightmare. To make a long story short he lived here 2 months, paid less than one half of one months rent, bounced rent checks and wrote checks on closed accounts.

How did he do it? First he wrote a bad check to get in. He explained that there must be a problem with his direct deposit and he would clear it up. After that he started avoiding me and making false promises to show up with the cash but never did. Then when I caught up with him he gave me a check from a different account. That account had been closed.

I then told him he had to go. With some threats to call the police for check fraud he had his stuff gone in about 48 hours.

A few days later a man comes and knocks on my door. It is his old landlord. He is looking for Micheal because he has not paid rent or fully moved out of his old place. He was supposed to have move from there on Nov 1st. We exchanged horror stories about our experiences which his are worse than mine.

Basically Micheal Glapion is scamming the land lords on TWW. This is a warning to all others to beware when dealing with this person. He seems to know how to take advantage of rental opportunities. He has lived almost rent free since sept 22nd when is old landlord said he got the last payment.

Once again dont rent to Dragonis aka. Micheal Glapioin. Well you can but just be careful.

I had a guy do that to me once when I subleased to him for 2 months. 2nd month's rent never showed up and he kept claiming to be in the hole because of being sick/mom's death/other BS. and in every email he kept inserting random Christian proverbs about forgiveness and knowing the important things in life. scamming bitch

I was the first landlord that potpot spoke about. My experience with Michael started in June and I had to kick him out by November 1st. Two days after he moved in, the other guys in the house started to complain about the smell coming from his room. The house is a two story house with Michael's room being on the second floor. You could smell his room from the first floor. I tried to let the situation resolve itself, but it never did. I had to actually write him a letter threatening to evict him because of the smell.

Here is the letter that I sent him:

" It is necessary to inform you that you are in violation of several clauses of your lease agreement. Clause 5a states that the tenant shall use the premises for residential purposes only and in a manner so as not to disturb the other tenants. The other tenants have complained about this odor and therefore it represents a disturbance to their enjoyment of the house. Clause 5c states that the tenant shall keep the premises in a clean and safe condition. The previous mentioned smell is caused by your failure to keep your room in clean condition. Clause 5f states that the tenant shall dispose of all ashes, rubbish, garbage, and other waste in a clean and safe manner and comply with all applicable ordinances concerning garbage collection, waste, and other refuse. One of the causes of this stench may be the improper disposal of food and garbage. This is a cause for great concern because it has the potential to lead to insect infestation and mice. I am instructing you to correct these conditions immediately. I do realize the seriousness of these complaints and how they can affect your relationship with the other tenants. I do not wish to place anyone in a hostile or embarrassing position. Therefore if the relationship with the other tenants deteriorates in to something that is less cordial, you have my permission to seek other housing without penalty of forfeiting your deposit. "

The room smelled because he get sweaty, then take his clothes off and leave them in the floor. There were also sweaty clothes that were on his bed. He would sleep on these and sweat some more. On top of the sweat and body odor, he would eat food in his room and leave half eaten bojangles chicken in the floor. So basically the smell was sweat, body odor, and rotting food.

Oh, but that is not even the worst part. The last straw came when I heard this story.

He allowed a friend to sleep in his bed. She puked (probably because of the smell). The next morning, instead of cleaning up, he takes the futon mattress that he was sleeping on and throws it out the window. He then goes down to the den, gets another roommate's futon and acts like nothing happened.

Once I heard that story, I evicted him.
