I hate to do this, but I have a cat, a little over a year old who needs a new home. He has been an indoor cat for the majority of his life but he has a small peeing problem we cannot figure out, so he would have to be an outdoor cat for you. He's very sweet, very loving, ugly in a cute kind of way, gets along great with other cats, and is a bit of a scaredy cat. His name is Bitty but he is fat as anything. He loves to eat and play and cuddle on his own terms. If you are interested, please let me know.PS. There is a picture of him in my photo gallery.[Edited on December 14, 2006 at 1:34 PM. Reason : hi]

have you tried:* changing his litter to several different brands. (some cats just wont pee in certain brands)*making sure the litter box is away from the food (cats dont piss where they eat)*cleaning the litter often, making sure that he isnt sharing a litter box with more than one cat.figure out where he pisses the most and put a litter box there for a while and slowly move it somewhere else

My roommate is a vet tech and we have tried everything. He pees mostly on our clothes and the couch. Litter box gets cleaned everyday, twice a day sometimes, and we have tried every brand of litter. The litter box is not near food, and we have more than one litter box in our apartment. He uses it for about a week or two then decides to pee in other places.

I asked a vet about a problem like this, and she suggested locking the cat in a bathroom with the litter box for 7 days, so he's forced to use the box.

Done that too he lived in the bathroom for 2 weeks

has his urine been tested? Cats that urinate outside of the box usually either have a health issue or something is going on in the house that is upsetting them and you haven't figured out what that is. Has anything changed that might be stressing him out?

Sounds like the cat has a UTI or urinary crystals--needs to be taken to a vet asap.
