which one is better or what are the pros/cons of each. looking at alienwares laptops the more high performance ones use the AMD processor - whats the deal?

i dont know much but everything ive heard says the new core 2 duos beat out AMD anything
12/12/2006 6:29:17 PM
for my purposes intel has slightly more calculation errors, especially when it is overclocked

core 2 duos smash amd64 x2s

^thats what i was thinking especially since i was looking at the (im assuming) single AMD processors that the alienware aurora notebooks come with - any reason (or idea) why they only offer the AMD?

Dual SLI is weak sauce. Try 128g ram, dual quad SLI, 4 core2's in with twin 2 terabyte Raid 10 SAS arrays.Pussy.

i assume you're looking at the SLI notebooks, since there are Alienware notebooks with the C2D... it's just a motherboard issue, they haven't made an C2D SLI motherboard for notebooks yet, it'll come out when demand is there, right now it's a very low-selling area of the marketplace...as for pairing a C2D with a single 7900GTX or 7950GTX, unless Alienware actually plans on competing directly with their parent company's XPS range you probably won't see it right now... eventually maybe, but unless something's changed in the last week you're not going to see it at all...

yeah i hadnt thought of that

i'm looking forward to the amd/ati quad-core processors that have on-chip video
