He completely forgets to mention that we lost Ced to the NBA.
12/12/2006 12:39:29 PM
yeah all things consideredhes doing a pretty awesome job with the amount of talent he has availablewe lost bethel, bennerman, evtimov (not really much of a loss there), brackman (to baseball), and of course he forgot to mention simmons (to the NBA)....and now for the past 4 games Atsur our only returning starter has been injuredi'm glad some of the other guys have stepped it up so far this season even though herb never gave alot of them too many chances to play last seasonMcCauley and Costner have really stepped it up for us in particular[Edited on December 12, 2006 at 12:51 PM. in terms of recruiting he's not doing bad either.i like his strategy - everyone knows good guards are important, especially in the ACC, but being in the NBA Sid understands the importance of solid forwards.

How is Sidney even eligible to be ranked? According to the beginning of the article, Seth Green took out of consideration any coaches that "replaced a head coach who left voluntarily." I'm pretty sure Herb falls under that category...nonetheless, good job Sid!

if we had more than 6 people, the WVU game would have been a win. we simply ran out of gas.

I hate losing.. But the way this team has played I can't be mad at the 2 loses. In fact it gives me a lot of hope that once we get a few extra players we can win those close games. I too think we can finish .500 and sneak our way into the NIT which would be a very successful year considering what this team has gone through.
12/14/2006 10:13:07 AM
^^ I'm certainly not mad. Shit happens. I just felt that was a winnable game even with our depth..
12/14/2006 1:28:58 PM
^^^^ technically no, not by the athletic department.by the fans...pretty much.
12/14/2006 1:40:20 PM
past wolfpack teams have really pissed me off with effort giventhese guys are really playing hard.bryan, i agree...i thought we could have won that game also
12/14/2006 1:47:54 PM
Has anyone seen that painting/mural in Ruckus of Lowe coaching with Valvano shouting with his hand on Lowe's shoulder? Pretty awesome. I wonder where they got it. Perhaps the new GoPack store?
12/19/2006 12:12:08 AM
A little cool FYI from the Herald-Sun:Sloan won his first game against UNC in Game 11 against them.Valvano won his first game against UNC in Game 8 against them.Lowe won his first game against UNC in Game 1 against them.

He has pretty good talent, just no depth.
2/5/2007 4:09:43 PM
that's more accurate. talented players don't do you much good when one of them is semi-injured and the others are out of breath from playing so many minutes.
