giuliani has prostate cancer -> not going to happennot to mention: he divorced his wife in a messy divorce (infidelity on his part etc)[Edited on December 11, 2006 at 2:25 AM. Reason : .]

as a VP though...i think it has potential

Having a P & VP who could carry different home states might be more beneficial.Bloomberg is pro same-sex marriage. That is further left than any democrat that could make it to the party's nomination (I know some can get there with calling it civil unions though). He is considered a liberal Republican, who is pro-choice, in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage and an advocate for stricter gun control laws.-wiki[Edited on December 11, 2006 at 2:56 AM. there are some unfounded rumors that richard burr could be looked at as a possible running mate for mccainthe conservative southern anchor to mccain's mavrickomg burr vs. edwards for most attractive political contest ever

ok if burr were mccain's running mate i would actually think about not voting for him.

http://www.draftmichael.com/Bloomberg, if he runs, will more than likely do so as a very much socially liberal, economically centrist independent. The only real gripes I would have with him would be over his treatment of protestors during the 2004 RNC (arrests w/o telling rights, mass arrests and imprisonment in a bus garage).

I like Bloomberg. I'm not pro-choice, but I'm not a one-issue guy either. It isn't even in my top 5 issues. I also don't like a "gun-control" president, because it typically is associated with "anti-gun."I'd only consider voting for him on the independent ticket if Hillary doesn't get the nod for the Dems. I'm not wasting my vote otherwise.

^ I'm just curious, but how is abortion not a top 5 issue for you if you're not pro-choice?If I thought that there was a form of widespread, legalized murder of innocents I'd probably be busting a blood vessel daily trying to stop it.
12/13/2006 9:42:16 PM
Well, here's the thing,I do think it is wrong, and I do think it is murder, but I recognize the hopelessness of getting others to see it. Its too convenient to overlook it for them. There are other issues that I have a hope of winning on, and I'd rather hitch myself to a candidate that believes in THOSE issues, rather than one in which there is no hope of us winning. So, while morally it would be a very big issue for me, politically it isn't feasible to worry so much about it in choosing a candidate.
