isnt gavin a junior?
12/10/2006 12:02:04 AM
I beleive every person in sports talk has mad ea thread wanting the same thing. Money is money
12/10/2006 12:03:01 AM
I support Gavin Grant and this thread. You know it would be awesome though, if ESPN did one of those retro games they do but it would be for a State vs one of the Big Four games in Reynolds. While that wouldn't make up for the money made at the RBC it could be enough to draw national viewership for the two teams.[Edited on December 10, 2006 at 12:11 AM. Reason : .]
12/10/2006 12:07:55 AM
I support Gavin Grant and this thread and his 2nd reverse windmill dunk.
12/10/2006 12:11:19 AM
money is money and people wouldn't be happy paying much more money to sit in a wooden seat with a terrible angle and possibly an obstructed view as opposed to luxury boxes and such . Didn't we help pay for the RBC? Get over the fact that we have history there. Maryland isn't bitching about their nice new stadium and its not as nice as RBC. Tradition can be built in the better, new arena.o and"every seat is a good seat"
12/10/2006 12:12:55 AM
Gavin grant needs to be a forward, he is a lousy guard.
12/10/2006 12:17:55 AM
^^ i would take the comcast center over the esa any day of the week
12/10/2006 12:19:46 AM
^^unless you want fucking braxton albritton bringing the ball up the court, gavin will be the pg untill atsur gets healthy
12/10/2006 12:31:56 AM
albritton, last year's fan favorite, is still on the squad? i thought he graduated. why isn't he getting any playing time, but nieman is playing 40 minutes.
12/10/2006 12:34:19 AM
i think he's a jr.why isn't he getting any playing time? because he sucks
12/10/2006 12:37:35 AM
Braxton and Bryan height wiseyea i'll take Bryan not to mention...Bryan is decent
12/10/2006 12:38:32 AM
bryan can fill it up from outside
12/10/2006 12:41:50 AM
12/10/2006 12:44:30 AM
I've got to understand the red shoes/white shoes thing with our team....the guys that play have white ones, the scrubs have red ones. When they put Albritton out there he looked like Chuck Amato running around......
12/10/2006 12:44:52 AM
^you didnt seriously commit to that statement did you ?
12/10/2006 12:47:57 AM
seems like the scholarship players wear white shoes and walk-ons wear red. haven't noticed that before this season so maybe it's a new thing sidney started (or brought back).anyone else notice this before this year?
12/10/2006 1:52:15 AM
I thought the red ones were last year's shoes and maybe Braxton didn't get this year's team gear because he was a walk-on
12/10/2006 2:52:43 AM
Did you see the ones Bartosz had on? I think they gave him the shittiest pair. [Edited on December 10, 2006 at 12:37 PM. Reason : ]
12/10/2006 12:27:55 PM
Braxton sucks goat balls. Thats why he's not playing. He looks like a bad guard on the fraternity intramural team
12/10/2006 12:36:36 PM
^^ yeah bartosz also had to wear a warmup last night even thought he's obviously hurt and not gonna play... probably b/c he doesnt own a suit big enough for him... sad
12/10/2006 2:01:43 PM
I beleive every person in sports talk has mad ea thread wanting the same thing. Money is money I do not want to play big games in reynolds coliseum. In my lifetime the only thing that happened there was les robinson lost in hot sweaters and we got all excited about getting into the NIT finally, not good memories.this university had to work for 15 years to get the RBC center plans approved and instead of going back to hot old reynolds cuz its nostalgic I think we should sell out the damn RBC center make money and kick carolina and dukes ass at the same time- so maybe at some point we can brag on our teams even half as much as we do our facilities lately.
12/10/2006 5:41:34 PM
you misspelled wolfpack
12/10/2006 5:43:50 PM
pwnt
12/10/2006 5:51:58 PM
we should at least play ECU or UNCW in Reynolds, a 1-A school at least, not the bullshit ass teams weve been playing in there. The best one so for was prob App. State.
12/11/2006 12:39:34 AM
tyrone, when you buy season tickets you'll understand why they don't play a big game in reynolds
12/11/2006 12:50:30 PM
12/11/2006 12:52:44 PM
RBC is a fine arena. It's not its fault that we've rarely had a reason to cheer basketball there. (*cough* Herb *cough*)
12/11/2006 12:54:42 PM
God dammit shut the fuck up about Herb. The man left. We beat Duke 3 years in a row in the RBC. I believe one of the times they were #2. We only lost 3 home games last year.
12/11/2006 12:59:02 PM
Also, it holds the world record for noise in an arena, so don't give me this atmosphere bs.
12/11/2006 12:59:38 PM
a world record for noise in an arena?
12/11/2006 5:16:46 PM
from the nhl playoffs this past summer
12/11/2006 5:19:49 PM
12/11/2006 6:13:25 PM
THERE IS NO 1AA IN BASKETBALL.Everyone we play is division 1. Period. You can say they're shitty teams, lower-conference, whatever, but they're not 1AA.
12/11/2006 6:17:50 PM
ha ha there is NO 1AA in basketball dude.

^ i don't think he meant IAA in football... i think he thought that there were IAAs in basketball too =P
12/12/2006 12:20:38 AM
i love sports talk posters.
12/12/2006 12:54:06 AM
we played UNC-A for several years in Reynolds
12/12/2006 10:58:21 AM
12/12/2006 11:01:46 AM
i was there for both games. i still have my chik-fil-a stuff cow thing i got back in '02.
12/12/2006 12:00:38 PM
Anyone who doesn't think the RBC can absolutely rock hasn't gone to many State games. The first game against Maryland where Gainey hit the winner with like 1 second left, the huge comeback versus Wake Forest from 17 down, the 2 Duke wins, Hodge's SR night when Paul nutpunched us all at the end, etc, etc.. The place is loud as shit for big games. And did people really think there was a 1-AA in basketball?
12/12/2006 12:04:43 PM
no one is saying shit about the rbc. goddamn, just coz we want a good game in the reynolds doesn't mean we want to abandon the rbc, move back to reynolds, and/or the rbc sucks. all we're saying is that if we're going to have this heritage game, let's atleast schedule some decent-good competition for it. we all also understand it simply comes down to money.
12/12/2006 12:18:40 PM
I'm not sure where I said anything about you wanting to abandon the RBC Center or even responding to the fact that you want a better game in the old barn(which I agree with). People constantly say the RBC has no noise and atmosphere and one person even said it in this thread, so I said that isn't true.[Edited on December 12, 2006 at 12:27 PM. Reason : x]
12/12/2006 12:26:44 PM
i'm not talking specifically about you.
12/12/2006 12:37:23 PM
1/15/2007 6:01:51 PM
let's get a good crowd out to the RBC on saturday! i think we will have it rocking if we stay close.
