now that a trade is a foregone conclusion....where might he end up?
12/9/2006 10:10:59 AM
i could see Sac-townLA of course will be in the mix (they always are) and probably Dallas will throw their name in there.NY is also a possibility but that would be a nightmare.
12/9/2006 10:12:47 AM
dallas for jason terry and one of the slew of good players they have on their bench[Edited on December 9, 2006 at 10:13 AM. Reason : .]
12/9/2006 10:12:50 AM
we've heard this before...he costs too much to be moved, unless a team is willing to do an overhaul on a team.I really dont believe the rumors that he could be going to Minnesota.
12/9/2006 10:13:37 AM
NY is sure to trade away their future for an aging star with an attitude problem. Can you imagnie Kobe sharing the ball with Iverson and vice versa?
12/9/2006 10:22:29 AM
but whatever is he to do if he's taken away from his beloved taj mahal in atlantic city?that dude is there all the damn time. its the last casino in the city thatll take his action after getitng tossed from the others. just an aside.
12/9/2006 10:27:33 AM
sports radio in philly is saying maybe minnesotta
12/9/2006 10:43:34 AM
Straight up trade for KG
12/9/2006 11:24:21 AM
^ he would only go there to play with KG, they wouldn't be traded for each other
12/9/2006 2:04:31 PM
who can afford himother than another superstar tradeor the bobcats, haha

Shit, I might have to pick a new favorite NBA team. My allegiance follows AI.
12/9/2006 5:25:20 PM
AI OMFZGZDGASZ
12/9/2006 5:39:34 PM
just reported on sportscenter that jordan is very interested in bringing AI to the bobcats
12/10/2006 10:45:16 AM
bobcats don't need AI...this team has allready made some of the dumbest fucking decisions in the history of NBA franchises....this will be the crown
12/10/2006 11:18:32 AM
yet another jersey becoming a throwback....Tracy McGradyDonte StallworthAllen IversonSteve McNair
12/10/2006 10:02:32 PM
actually the bobcats need a true scorer...thats why they drafted MorrisonI think he would be a great fit personally, and would add some excitement to the franchise.
12/10/2006 10:04:58 PM
AI is perfect fit for Charlotte. At least as perfect as AI will "fit". He's still the best player under 6 foot to ever play this game. He has a bad rep, but he was a few wins a away from being a champion
12/11/2006 12:08:31 AM
An Iverson-esqe player really seems like the missing piece for the bobcats. The team has some pieces in a place -- a PG, a solid post presence, a defensive stopper -- but they have no one who can score consistently. Since there's not an established go-to-guy on the team, Iverson could come in and immediately fill that role. Him going to nearly any other team mentioned (Celtics, Timberwolves, Mavs) seems like it would create a riff between the team's previously established go-to-guy and AI. Not so with the Bobcats. They need scoring from any place they can get it.
12/11/2006 1:01:08 AM
Having said that, who would the bobcats trade away for Iverson? Okafor, Morrison and Felton seem like staples, so what could they offer? Guessing some draft picks will have to be shipped out.
12/11/2006 1:06:09 AM
Morrison & Knight
12/11/2006 1:08:30 AM
Knight can go...Primo could go...and maybe a pick
12/11/2006 1:26:30 AM
since AI is a point guard it will probably involve another guard in the trade.
12/11/2006 1:29:28 AM
we talkin' bout practice...
12/11/2006 1:32:31 AM
you need to relisten to what he said, he distinctly had the contraction of We are, as in We're. Of course I see what you are going for and making the assumption that black people either do not conjugate the verb to be or completely ignore it.also, here was a distinct "a" in about.
12/11/2006 1:35:58 AM
This would be good. But not sure if Charlotte has the chips to trade
12/11/2006 2:31:53 AM
This would probably have to involve at least a 3rd team.
12/11/2006 2:37:01 AM
^^^lol, i was going from memory...i'm sure i wasnt too far off though[Edited on December 11, 2006 at 2:37 AM. Reason : .]
12/11/2006 2:37:31 AM
can he reject any trade?
12/11/2006 3:11:18 AM
no
12/11/2006 5:00:06 AM
on the philadelphia news they said this morning that the ownership is looking to move him by no later than tonight.the trade could end up looking interesting, since they appear desperate to get rid of him.
12/11/2006 7:56:19 AM
the asian guy who won the ultimate contest said "we talkin bout practice?" imitating AI on his little tv show. dnl is just too much fo a moron to seperate the two.[Edited on December 11, 2006 at 9:34 AM. Reason : zx]
12/11/2006 9:34:20 AM
I love Allen Iverson, and I hope he ends up somewhere that he can win a titlenot the fucking T'wolves or anywhere like thati hate great possible trades that end up being busts (like Artest to the Queens)
12/11/2006 10:30:18 AM
Bobcats' attendance isn't great and since they are dead last in the Eastern Conference (despite being on pace for more wins than last year, barely), I would imagine they would like to boost revenues. AI would get some more butts in the seats, and should help the win total. The guy is just a flat out scorer. Still who could we trade? I would imagine we would want to keep Okafor and Felton at a minimum. And probably Morrison. Would we have to get rid of Gerald Wallace? May? Brezec? Ely? Who knows. Maybe we will get Iverson and Jordan will pull a Roger Dorn and activate himself.
12/11/2006 11:18:45 AM
Ive actually changed my mind on things.I love Iverson and even though his career is winding down i just cant handle being uncompetitive anymore.Maybe having a true scorer would open things up for us.I'm guessing it would take GWallace/BK and our #1 pick. We won't trade Okafor. I doubt they want May. They'd probably want Felton but i doubt we'd move him. This would give us a chance to take Iverson off the ball, let Felton take control of PG finally, and let Morrison play a role like Korver does for Philly. The difference is we have some interior strength unlike Philly. The Eastern conference is so god awful we could legitimately become a playoff team this season.Go for it, G.Wallace is sucking and its gonna be hard to commit a lot of money to him anyway. We'd still have plenty of cap room to go after a pretty decent free agent to replace Wallace.
12/11/2006 11:34:28 AM
^I like it
12/11/2006 11:54:47 AM
i like it also
12/11/2006 12:04:04 PM
i like it too, but the chance at Oden, Kevin Durant or Brandan Wright is really gonna hurt if we end up top 3 in the draftbut the seats will fillfeltoniversonmorrisonmayokaforthats a team that has a chance
12/11/2006 12:16:18 PM
im getting all excited about that noweven though i know he will never come here
12/11/2006 1:04:46 PM
Trade Wallace and May and see if they will take our 2nd round pick for AI. It will still be around 35th.We CANNOT trade our first round pick for the above reasons, I wan't at least a chance at Greg Oden. He is going to be the first legitimate big man since Yao. I mean besides Shaq and Yao, how many legit centers are in the NBA?
12/11/2006 1:09:13 PM
12/11/2006 1:26:08 PM
^ He's not the biggest or tallest, but I really think Okafor could turn out to be a pretty dominant center. He seems much more comfortable there than at PF. I agree with Wallace, Knight, and a 1st rounder for AI. The Bobcats will definitely have the fastest guards in the league, but with both AI and Felton being under 6'0, big guards are going to give them some trouble.
12/11/2006 2:01:26 PM
^yeah but a back court of Felton and AI would be so much better than the already undersized backcourt of Felton and Brevin
12/11/2006 3:35:03 PM
12/11/2006 3:37:51 PM
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trademachineYes they do, I just did that tradeWallace and BK for AIProfit
12/11/2006 3:39:21 PM
They don't need to match up, Charlotte is like $300 million under the cap. They only need to match up when teams are real close to the upper limit.
12/11/2006 3:54:30 PM
Brevin, Gerald, Voskul, 1st Round Pick (with clause in case we get a top 3 pick)Bickerstaff says under no circumstances will he "mortgage the future", meaning under no circumstances will he get rid of Felton, May, Morrison, Okafor or Wallace...but I think if Jordan and Johnson start doing the math, something will happen, or at least the Bobcats will make a legitimate offer
12/11/2006 3:57:54 PM
Yeah at first i didnt like the idea but then i started thinking.Iverson has only three years left on his deal. Although his career is winding down, he's still probably got three all-star caliber years left in him.I dont think its mortgaging the future if you can trade for a player of AI's caliber for 75 cents on the dollar. Not only would Iverson bring us star power and instant marketability, but he'd probably make us a playoff team. From a business standpoint I wouldnt even think twice about making this deal.If we save our cap room and then miss out on Vince Carter who exactly are we gonna get thats better than Allen Iverson.... Rashard Lewis? Antawn Jamison? No thanks. We'd probably end up splitting our cap space with two mediocre guys (like a Donyell Marshall type) or throwing big money after a 2nd banana like Larry Hughes...Do the fucking deal guys you have my permission. Also, if we are able to get the draft pick top 3 protected then all the better. I too would love a shot at Greg Oden. But who exactly is going to be around at #4 in the draft that is anywhere close to Iverson's level. At some point you need veterans. When you sign an up and coming guy to a big contract you never know how hard he's gonna work/play after he gets his check. With Iverson you know he's gonna play hard no matter what.Do the deal. He carried a Philly team to the NBA Finals thats supporting cast honestly was not much more talented than ours is currently.
12/11/2006 4:27:40 PM
12/11/2006 4:56:13 PM
^yet the other issue is they're def going to have to trade away their 1st rounder in one of the better drafts in a while, including a shot at oden at number one when they desperately need a center
12/11/2006 5:01:30 PM
