Any recommendations for a good electronic chess set? Constraints are: (1) prefer having real board/pieces than touch screen only and (2) that the game can handle both beginners as well as advanced (i.e. I'd like the set to last for my son to advance).

I'm currently considering: http://www.classicchessandgames.com/ExpertTravelChessComputerModelCH06.htm

Any suggestions or recommendations would be welcome.

why electronic? does he travel a lot?
that e-chess set looks kinda cool, but i wouldn't pay $80 for it. staring at small pieces for so long can be eye straining also. idk how old your kid is, but i think a chess book would be better. understanding theory is key, but if he's just a small kid, then he'd probably like the chess set more.
