Nuggets guard Julius Hodge made his 2006-07 D-League debut Sunday, playing 4 minutes in the Colorado 14ers' home loss to the Idaho Stampede. It was Hodge's first game at any level since he was shot four times April 8, but he reportedly was not happy about his limited role."Very disappointing. It seems like he's already got a bad attitude," Karl said after hearing comments by Hodge. "Complaining and being labeled as (having) a bad attitude, I don't know if he understands that general managers read that and they go, 'Wow!' "Karl said Nuggets officials will work closely with Hodge as much as possible during his monthlong rehabilitation assignment. Click, Clack

but....I thought he had 80 blocks and 40 steals on Sunday?
12/5/2006 6:51:29 PM
george karl coaches the nuggets. since when has he cared about bad attitudes?
12/5/2006 6:56:27 PM
who cares? where is the philip rivers thread????
12/5/2006 7:02:03 PM
If Lance can overcome Cancer, Hodge can overcome Bullet Wounds. And the public will love each of them.

[obligatory "GEORGE KARL IS A UNC GUY AND THIS IS JUST ANOTHER UNC CONSPIRACY TO KEEP NC STATE DOWN" comment]
12/5/2006 7:09:25 PM
seriously though, i think george karl is one of the most overrated coaches in the league. he hasn't done shit since the '96 sonics. and that was really only because shawn kemp was sober back then. fuck you george karl, hodge got shot up and wants to play some ball. cut him some slack, you cracker ass hair-lip havin' clown. anyone have the link to that article where jr smith was picking on hodge for reading books? yup, those new free agents are great for you george. i'm sure the GM was hyped about reading that too. GM's love seeing that their future stars have the intellectual capacity of a 4th grader. seriously, this franchise drafted tsakavidis (or however you spell his name, sorry ass euro trash) with a top-5 pick a few years ago and is gonna hate on hodge, for wanting more playing time? fuck the nuggets. that's why they've never been of consequence. karl will lead them to a first round playoff exit this year too, carmelo be damned.

^^There are no peaks on Earth higher than 30000 ft. Mt. Everest is only 29,035 ft. [Edited on December 6, 2006 at 11:20 AM. Reason : .]

The 14 is the average NBA career (in days) that players who play on the 14ers will see in their lives (or also the average length of their only NBA contract)
12/6/2006 12:14:14 PM
24 minutes, 15 points on 6/11 shooting, 6 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block tonight in a win for the 14ers]
12/11/2006 12:21:45 AM
what's his competition? evtimov and bennerman?
12/11/2006 12:26:13 AM
basicallytoday he went against Akingbala (Clemson) among othersthe league has such players as Von Wafer (FSU), Jay Williams (Duke), BJ Elder (GT), Jawad Williams (UNC)
12/11/2006 12:32:34 AM
basically the bum ass retard ACC washout leaguei hear kyle visser is the potential number 1 pick next year
12/11/2006 12:35:01 AM
BJ Elder, Jawad Williams and Jaw williams arent exactly bum ass retards
12/11/2006 12:39:55 AM
Dick Vitale told me Jay Williams was the best PG in all of basketball, including the NBA, when he was a sophomore in college. It's both sad and hilarious at the same time that a stupid decision cost him his career for all intents and purposes..
12/11/2006 12:57:52 AM
jawill is lucky to be alive
12/11/2006 9:15:59 AM
Does anyone know if he wore 24 last year in the D league? I know he wore 32 for the nuggets.

I read the title as "huge update" first... I came back later to respond to it and was terribly surprised to find the thread completely gone. by the time I figured out it was this one .... I'd forgot what I had to add
12/11/2006 9:38:21 AM
The picture is from this year. I am talking about when he was with the Toros.
12/11/2006 9:40:54 AM
on a lighter note ced started again tonight for the Hornets
12/15/2006 1:07:24 AM
^And didn't really take advantage. Kind of disappointing. He started because the Hornets' three frontline starters were out. So it was a good chance for him to make a good showing. But he was pretty non-existant in the PT he got in the first half and the other scrubs actually stood out a little bit. So he only got like fifteen minutes when he actually started the game.Oh well...it's still early in the season.
12/15/2006 1:59:52 AM
damn this guy has fallen off so far i forgot he got shoti was like ohhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhh
12/15/2006 2:01:38 AM
^^he had a span there in the 3rd quarter where he had like 7 pts and a few boards and i thought he was gonna just blow up in the 2nd half. then he disappeared.
12/15/2006 2:03:29 AM
^^yeah i know shot 4 times that is pretty serious, but he does need to leave the nuggets that have to much talent and i dont think he can fit in with them. Does he still get paid the big bucks when he plays for the D leage or does he pick up one of those 18,000 dollar contracts
12/15/2006 10:53:25 AM
iirc all first round contracts are guaranteed for your first two years.so he better start impressing people if he wants to stick around making money.
12/15/2006 11:05:41 AM
^nah if i were him i'd hire a financial advisor and make sure i get some good investments and stuff
12/15/2006 12:27:34 PM
gee.. based on all the tww talk from 2 years ago, i thought he was going to be an nba all-star by now.
12/15/2006 11:13:26 PM
i think the most optimistic thing anybody ever said about Hodge was that he would be an NBA starterwhich might happenin 5-10 years
12/15/2006 11:15:00 PM
only if expansion keeps going.
12/15/2006 11:20:57 PM
It looks like he has been puttin on the pounds though
12/15/2006 11:26:28 PM
is he gonna get some playing time because of the fight and ejections?
12/17/2006 1:04:55 AM
probably depends on the suspensions and whether they want to call him up for 15 days.. .. had a pretty good line tonight despite shooting a horrible percentage.. 30 mins.. 2-9FG..7-10FT..6RBS..12AST..1STL..11 PTS[Edited on December 17, 2006 at 1:09 AM. Reason : d]
12/17/2006 1:09:00 AM
^ yeah he had a double-double, I'd call that a good gamehelp others when your game is down.
12/17/2006 2:19:51 AM
it's no 80 rebound game or anything, but it's decent...
12/17/2006 2:20:57 AM
I'm not an englsih major or guru by any means, but isnt the phrase "for all intensive purposes"?
12/17/2006 2:30:26 AM
^ As an English major, I can tell you that it is, in fact, "for all intents and purposes."http://wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html[Edited on December 17, 2006 at 2:45 AM. Reason : 6]
12/17/2006 2:44:16 AM
guess he's gonna get some run now, with the nuggets suspensions that are gonna come down
12/17/2006 10:03:10 AM
^ maybe not. a player should be on the active roster for a game in which he is suspended, otherwise it doesn't hurt the team nearly as much. That would put 5+ players on each team that must keep a spot on the active roster for a game, and they wouldn't be able to pull any/many from the NBDL to get playing time.
12/17/2006 10:08:59 AM
^^^^ahahahhaha what
