nope, dont have it but have the competition from dish network. I'd recommend that you go with dish because you'll get more HD channels for less and the dish HD DVR is pretty solid and will cost you less than the one from dtv. plus the ability to record 3 things at a time and playback 2 different shows simultaneously on 2 tv's in different rooms in the house from the same box is pretty cool.

if you have hdtv, you should go with dish network or directv if youre not in an apartment and can put up a satellite dish. twc sucks cause you get like 6 hd channels and they wont give you espn2HD or espn u (not hd)...plus you get nfl network and other hd channels. if i had a choice, id go with someone other than twc...as for the box, i have it. it records 20 hours of HD material (40 hours or more of nonhd shows). its not bad for $7/month.

The DirecTV HR20 is backordered at most places. My papa wants one and I had been doing some looking. I called dtv and ended up getting $150 off for when they do come in. The CS rep I spoke with just kept knocking the price down as we talked because I kept asking questions about their BS "lease" program. On a side note, I saw where directv is planning on having 40+ national HD channels by summer next year.

I have had the DirecTV HR20 for about a month and I'd have to give it a B+. There have been MANY reported probs with it. If ur curious on all of em google it.Ive used tivo for directv, MOXi (DVR for charter cable) and Dishnetwork DVR (duno wtf it was) - its the 2nd best ive used.few things i like:-fastest menus ive ever used on a receiver-RF remote (can controll it from all over my house, really nice for switchin xm stations)-Does not accept RF and IR at the same time (WTF?)-HDMI is niceshit i dont like:-locks up more than once a week-doesnt always record shows that i sched.-NO skipback after fast forward - this pisses me off -only shows like 5 rows in the guide-managing recorded shows sucks cack. Especially changing options on series you have sched. to recordFor anyone who has the HR20 or is interested in it this forum is a must:http://www.dbstalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=112If u can get for free by extendin ur contract 2yrs go for it. Otherwise wait a few months for the bugs to be worked out, I would not pay alot of $ for it.
