A friend and I have been planning to canoe from Fayetteville to the coast for a few weeks. A few minutes ago he had the idea to use it to raise money for breast cancer research. The only problem is, we leave in a week. Is this even doable? I suppose it is on some level, but don't really know much yet.

I'll do plenty of research tomorrow morning, but am looking for any experiences with similar types of fundraising...or just any general advice before I get started.

Well, It'd be on a pretty small scale...probably limited mainly to family, friends, and their workplaces. I'm assumind we'd collect checks made out directly to the foundation both before and during our trip, and send them in afterwards.

both of our mothers do work related to breast cancer, so that's a plus
