Just looking for some opinions on a good place to eat in greensboro, for an aniversary.....not too pricey, but not too cheap, just an overall nice place to sit down and eat for a special occasion.....any thoughts?

i like backstreets. could just be cause its close and i need to get out more, who knows. i just dont know how i feel about it for an occasion. its got this kinda dim.. leather and brick thing going on. it gets crazy on the weekends but thats mainly downstairs in the bar. they have this really cool wine cellar dining room too, but i think thats reservation only. hard to explain, you'd have to go look at it to see what i mean, but its definitely worth checking out - even if its not worthy of an anniversary dinner or whatever. they are open for lunch during the week, maybe grab a couple friends and check it out for lunch and see. menu is "american" - most common price is like 10-15 bucks. there are much nicer places, and much shittier places.

no way you wanna go to natty greenes on your aniversary. i dont like going ever, cause that place is a douche closet -- so maybe i'm biased, but i really think thats not a good ideaim not big on italian, but a lot of people do talk about antons.is green valley grill the one with the really high ceiling? i would agree with that one, but the prices might be higer than you want[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 2:27 AM. I'm generally not a huge fan of Italian food either, but we went to this place called Bravo! in the new shopping center past Friendly Shopping Center...not sure what that area is called, but it reminded me of Southpointe on a much smaller scaleit's not terribly expensive, but seemed like it may could have been (my friends and I had to check the menu's prices before we sat down )[Edited on December 2, 2006 at 2:40 AM. I think Antons was over rated last time I went. Gbo just got PF's, Red Oak has a nice menu, Wasabi's on Market. Depends how far you want to go $$ wise.

^^^^It's in the O Henry hotel, and I think it does have high ceilings. Its been years since I've been there. Yes you will probably be spending about 30-35 if you just get an entree and a tea or soda.

green valley grill is decent.i'd say southern lights if you like gourmet southern cusine.ganache if you like decent food and nice deserts.anton's is just crap. damn.the last time i ate at gate city, it was blah. they've really gone downhill.never eat at pastabilities. it's stupid.red oak is actually decent and i like their beer. plus the brewery is finally under construction on I-40.
