Over break I went to Houston to hang out with a good friend and went to some kick ass rock/industrial local shows.

I've gone to a couple of shows here in Raleigh within the past year, and it's all been punk/emo music, which most of my friends have given in to - nothing like what I saw in Houston. Not that I really don't like that music, but I'm more of a rock girl at heart.

Where have all the rock people gone? Where's the best venue to catch some good bands without having to hear the lead singer whine as he attempts to sing?
