oh yeah...i hunt and am outside all the time on the weekends, several times I've shot a deer only to know "about" where he is b/c it's so dark, so I have to head back to the house to get a light or use the lights on the fourwheeler. I'd like to have a bright, dependable flashlight to find the deer or do any chore around the house in the dark.[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 5:27 PM. Reason : X]

why don't you just use the $40 to buy some deer meat and save yourself the trouble?
11/30/2006 5:34:41 PM
ok i guess thats not so unreasonable then. it blew my mind up until that point.

you just want to spotlight deers for the easy hunting

Here's my pickhttp://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=37$70 at Gander mountainI've a dorcy 1W LED light and it's good - here's a 3W one for $40 at Searshttp://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?cat=Electrical+Shop&pid=03493904000&vertical=TOOL&subcat=Flashlights+%26+Lanterns&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes

Dorcy is a good deal for the buck. Keep in mind....Luminex (by Phillips) LEDs are better than Nichia LEDs. They are newer, generally use up less electricity, and are FAR brighter than Nichias...even if there's more that one LED.http://www.flashlightreviews.com helped me choose....[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 8:22 PM. I bought the big ass led lenser coast makes or made rather, 3 wat led uses 2 c cell bats, it worked well till it dropped 75 feet onto concrete, now i am trying to find a new led to avoid repalcing the whole light.

overrated.i do own a few maglites, but a lot of their competitors are quickly surpassing or leapfrogged beyond them.they just now came out with an led replacement for their flashlights when others have been selling retrofit kits and accessories for quite a while.

there are plenty of good machined aluminum LED tac lites for sale in the $12-30 range at home depot ...no need to spend $60 bucks on a surefire, it will just piss you off that much more when you lose it
