Take it in the fall. Too much crap to learn in one month. However, since you've already dealt with the material, it might go down easier the second time around in the summer, even if it is at a faster pace.

I have taught 242 in the summer a couple of times, and it is tough to get a grasp on all the material in such a short amount of time, if you've never been exposed to it. If you're re-taking the class, it isn't so bad. As with any course, the instructor makes a lot of difference...choose carefully, given that you're going to be in their lecture for 10 hours a week. Some students say they find it easier in the summer (if that's the only course they're taking), because they can focus all their energy on that one course for 5 1/2 weeks, and be done with it. Unless you're a 4.0 student, taking this and another core class (for example Physics 208) at the same time is a bad idea.

if you can get Stitzinger for the summer i would definitely take it. He makes calc 3 easy to understand and your grade will benefit

I took it over the summer. It was the only class I was taking, but I was working two jobs at the time and still came out with a B. I'd get it out of the way if I were you.
