So, I had been wondering if those flyer's around campus are worth the money. So i called and made an appointment. All they did was take my blood pressure twice and then handed me a check for 275 dollars?!?!?! Duke has way too much money. give them a call and take it from them. It was soooo worth it. the number is 919 668 1967. Its for the family heart study. here is a link http://www.dukehealth.org/clinicaltrials/20060405131834256

"Diving Research Study

Researchers are looking for subjects to participate in a U.S. Navy Diving Research Study At Duke University Medical Center's Center For Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology

Participants may earn up to $1,200.

Volunteers are needed for a study of the differences between expired and arterial carbon dioxide levels during diving. Subjects will exercise on a cycle ergometer modified for use in a pool inside a hyperbaric chamber. Subjects will be instrumented with arterial and venous catheters.

Prior to the study, subjects must come to the laboratory for three hours for a physical exam, exercise test, orientation and scheduling for the experimental day, which takes place at least three days later. Participants may have up to four separate experimental days, each requiring at least eight hours. Subjects are compensated $30 for the initial visit and $270 for each chamber experiment."

I called up the guy. They require 4 visits, blood to be drawn, one visit is practically all day, and a heartrate monitor has be worn 26 hrs straight.
