It isn't the first time. What is sad is that they were pretty much given an invitation to. If this had been a State win after some 10 win season or so and a awesome bowl bid, they would would have sent the armed forces, tanks and air force jets to keep us off the field.

Allowing ECU to rush the field bothers me way more than losing. I mean really, we aren't allowed to rush the field after a miracle victory against BC, we aren't allowed to rush the field when we beat FSU, but ECU is allowed to rush our field when they beat us.

Why weren't the police macing every ECU student who stepped onto the field? Where were the zip-tie handcuffs that the police hand out at every game?

This is ridiculous.

Regardless of whether anyone actually rushed or not; they lowered the goalposts. Did they lower the goalposts before time ran out against Boston College or Florida State? No, but they do it when ECU beats us. That is really fucked up

i just got back from Clemson where it was one of the most incredible rivalry games played between USC and Clemson, and no USC fans rushed the field, even when the field is OPEN to everyone after every game.

What is going on is that the ECU fan base is composed of adults with their families rather than a bunch of drunk college students. If they went at them with mase and handcuffs, RPD may have hell to pay.

NO ONE rushed the field. They lowered the goal posts with like 15sec left. The posts don't even lay flat. The crossbar was on the ground and the posts were sticking up at 30-35deg angles. Funniest shit I've ever seen. The idiots couldn't even figure out how to get them down at first.

And I believe that the state fans who were left near the end of the game actually ended up cheering for ECU. I couldn't help but laugh the entire game. There were cops on the field but I only saw one bottle of pepper spray and a guy with a bull horn. The others just had like 3-4 of those ziptie handcuffs.

And I lost count of how many times they said "Only players and staff are allowed on the field".

My section of about 6 people were the only ones that understand football and knew that if we got the 2 onside kick we would have 19 seconds to get 10 yards and tie the game.
