11/25/2006 9:47:10 PM
^ naw manit was good, but not that goodthere are a couple tracks on it was written I skip, not on illmatic
11/25/2006 9:48:03 PM
I mean, I know it's TWW and all, but e-people still have opinions.and I happen to value mine, as you should yours.I love both of those albums, and the only song I skip on IWW is "Nas Is Coming" with Dre. I've never caught on to Dre, other than "Let Me Ride"[Edited on November 25, 2006 at 9:50 PM. Reason : eh]
11/25/2006 9:50:20 PM
I got youI like both a lot, but illmatic makes it into the classics for me
11/25/2006 9:54:04 PM
rap sucks
11/25/2006 9:55:07 PM
thank you for your fantastic opinion
11/25/2006 9:56:08 PM
honestly, i think the people that think rap sucks, suckthe beats and lyrics to some of the songs are unbeatable
11/25/2006 9:59:09 PM
OPINING IS FUNseriously, let people hate rap if they want.geez.
11/25/2006 10:00:01 PM
name one thing redeeming about it
11/25/2006 10:01:10 PM
i tell you one thing...i cant fucking stand country
11/25/2006 10:01:27 PM
you rightbut I don't go into all the threads about stuff I know I hate and say so
11/25/2006 10:01:44 PM
name something "redeeming" about it?christ, it's music. if i thought i had to find a redeeming quality in aesthetics, I'd shoot my art-loving face off.
11/25/2006 10:03:50 PM
redeeming quality- the beats and the lyrics are unbeatable at times
11/25/2006 10:04:47 PM
and again, it's an opinion.come on, people. enough.
11/25/2006 10:05:37 PM
non redeeming- it tells impressionable idiots that its ok to be a scumbag and deal drugs and shoot peopleand theres no classics, everything is a fad, just like slap bracelets and pacifiersif you listen to it, you should probably evaluate what your values are and if you plan on accomplishing anything in lifemaybe I won't be forced to listen to another impromptu rap battle by burger king employees over the frier[Edited on November 25, 2006 at 10:09 PM. just fyi, it's not all drugs and violence
11/25/2006 10:12:09 PM
I know, I like some like Mos Def and Tribe Called Questbut otherwise its poison, for the mind and the soul
11/25/2006 10:15:06 PM
o, so you're not opposed to hip hop, but are a hater of rap?
11/25/2006 10:16:50 PM
maybe a little, I really like Motown stuff too
11/25/2006 10:19:03 PM
i thought when i saw the post count up, this thread was gonna be full of meaningful discussion so heres so tracks thats supposed to be on the album, as far as whether or not itll be tweaked (more than likely) is neither here nor there, just posting something meaniful The Nhttp://download.yousendit.com/CA4B854F355727B2http://download.yousendit.com/136EF3FC0B5057AC

^Thanks for thoseNas the N did nothing for me at all. I hate the beat. Sounds like an "anthem" song and has a lot of gospel type sounds in it. The Chorus was horrible. The flow was okayHip Hop is dead was decent. The flow is really nice. The beat is way too lame(why would he just recycle Thief's Theme? The songs don't even correlate) other than the piano church keys which I enjoyed.I hope the actual release is better. I'm tired of listening to Illmatic for the ######th time.
11/25/2006 11:09:24 PM
shit i can appreciate most all of his catalogi am and nastradamus have a few good cuts if you add them togetherstillmatic and god's son are both real nice albums, and not mentioned a whole lot when speaking of himnot so much on street's disciple, but i can still dig that shit from time to timegotta like his work with the firm, too
11/25/2006 11:18:26 PM
I hated the firm the albumonly 2 listenable songsthat's ok, I like the rest of his stuff enough to ignore it
11/25/2006 11:23:19 PM
man see i thought the firm was great when you consider the individual components...well, nature and fox sucked, but nas and AZ...should have been smarter and collaborated more afterward
11/27/2006 2:24:09 PM
haha, so 2/4 is great
11/27/2006 3:20:26 PM
Despite the recycled beat, I really like "Hip Hop Is Dead". Lyrics are great, and the beat has enough new twists to be interesting (the organ notes, the "apache" breaks, etc). "The N" is decent, nothing too special, but still better than most stuff off of Nastradamus and I Am.Only other song I've heard so far is "Black Republicans". I was REALLY digging it at first, now I'm not so sure. I kinda like Jay's verse, talking about his beef with Nas (or at least I assume that's what he was talking about - maybe he's talking about Dame.) But the beat might be a little too much. I dunno.
11/27/2006 3:30:34 PM
yeah but i still liked the albumconceptually it was a good ideabut fucking nature and foxy
11/27/2006 3:34:40 PM
I usually buy Nas albums, so I'll probably get this along with the new Young Jeezy album.I LUV IT.
11/27/2006 4:38:49 PM
Southern/Crunk/Gangsta rap seems like the most retarded shit I've ever heard. But a lot of hip hop is pretty good. There are lots of independent artists that I like who rap about other things besides snapping yo fingers, getting crunk, smackin that ho's ass, etc.[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 10:09 AM.
