OK...One of you guys has to have a way around "downloading a windows codec" or something to watch certain DVD's on WMP. There is a link that windows supplies you for plug-ins, but they all cost like 15 bucks. The only think I could figure out was to download some random DVD player on download.com, but that seems to be only a temporary fix because they all seem to have a trial period that ends after about 20 days or so.

some of the dvd players install the plug in necessary.

Download VLC Media Player. It can provide DVD playback and offers a number of codecs built-in. WMP as a general rule sucks. I really like PowerDVD, but its commercial / usually bundled software with a computer or dvdrw purchase.[Edited on November 22, 2006 at 4:20 PM. Reason : ^crap you.]
