SO I am going to need a small but informative website shortly for a new business venture, what is a good (reliable and reasonable affordable) webhosting company to use? also can I build a good enough looking site with frontpage?thanks

Most people around here, including me, use Dreamhost. You get the most for what you pay for with them. Their basic plan should be more than an enough for a small business. They also support frontpage extensions, if you use those. I've never really used frontpage, but i'm a fan of dreamweaver.[Edited on November 14, 2006 at 10:31 PM. Reason : ]

learning PHP doesn't really have anything to do with being able to design a nice site. you can PHP-it-up all you want, but if you suck at designing, it will just be a shitty looking dynamic site, instead of a shitty looking static site. n/m - ^ got rid of the php suggestion.....if you want to do this yourself, i would suggest finding some free/open source design templates and working from there. Or, install Wordpress and use it as your backend and use any of the thousands of templates for it.[Edited on November 14, 2006 at 10:34 PM. Reason : .]

How much traffic are you expecting to get? The answer to that questin will determine what kind of host you need.

Frontpage made me want to vomit years ago, although I haven't looked at it in the past 5 or so.But if your shitty at designing websites its going to suck no matter what program you use, but I guess that goes both ways also so you could use frontpage and have something that looked nice.I've always just prefered good ol notepad.

is a flash site like that one going to kill my bandwidth?

either way, you 90% likely don't need a flash website
