Help please. I am trying to accomplish the seemingly simple task of creating a L2TP connection between a XP Sp2 machine and an ASA 5510. I've followed the Cisco supplied doc for this to the letter and been through two TAC agents with no luck as of yet. My tunnel gets built and then immediately gets torn down by the client with the following Windows error:

734 The PPP link control protocol was terminated.

All I see on the firewall is that the tunnel is build successfully and then immediately a teardown gets initiated from the client

I know is not a Cisco issue per say but a MSFT one, but I have been able to connect to other devices via L2TP. Of course, this would not even be an issue if Cisco had a x64 version of their VPN client

Anyone have any ideas?

PM me your case number and I'll take a look.

I'm not an ASA guy, but maybe I can help.
