Virginia--Webb: 1,172,411 (+7262)Allen: 1,165,149Parker: 26,10299% of precincts reporting? Oh, and if you go to the "Votes by County" page, they ALL have 100%...(EDIT: Just saw "Isles of Wight" county, the ONLY one left, Webb with 57% and 92% of precincts reporting...)so where is this 1% coming from? This one county with 92% in and Webb the clear victor?Just call it for Webb, and call dems > reps for senate already, jesus. I seriously think they're just holding like that for publicity.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 5:54 PM. Reason : ]

what i dont get is that montana was closerbut like they are recounting vathe recount was pretty expected though
11/8/2006 5:53:42 PM
Democrats started that shit back in 2000... No one used to do recounts .
11/8/2006 5:53:51 PM
recounts go back a lot farther than that
11/8/2006 5:56:37 PM
so what is the difference of further and farther in that post ^
11/8/2006 5:57:26 PM
Allen won many counties, and it is less than 6,000 votes.not all the absentee ballots have been counted alsoIn the state of VA if the difference between 2 candidates is less than 1/2% there is an automatic recountif there is greater than 0.5% difference, the candidate who wants a recount is required to pay for a recountright now there is a 0.3% difference
11/8/2006 6:02:25 PM
nevermind. someone beat me to it.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 6:04 PM. Reason : ^]
11/8/2006 6:03:47 PM
so it aint gonna fuckin change anythingthey did this shit in 04 and it netted for 27 votes for the guy that DIDNT want the recountits just a waste of fucking tax money
11/8/2006 6:04:44 PM
yeah, wanting to make sure the right guy is placed into office is a waste of tax payer money.
11/8/2006 6:06:45 PM
I'm in favor of a recount...just on principle, not because I think the outcome will change.
11/8/2006 6:07:01 PM
11/8/2006 6:08:23 PM
I don't see any harm in recounting when <1% is between the two. Nothing wrong with making sure the dead people and the current felons haven't voted or that some provisionals weren't left out. And counting absentee ballots is okay too.Regardless of which party is benefitting, a recount isn't a big deal.Oh and btw, Webb wins in VA, 51(+1Lieber) for Dems, lets see if they can get sensible legislation passed like the changes in '94.

#1 are you a tax payer in Virginia?#2 How do you know there wasn't a transcription error?#3 Different States have different election laws#4 You are Retarded

How do you know it won't change a fucking thing?Besides, we need the last numbers from the absentee ballotsIf the bulk of the remaining absentee ballots are MIL, or CIV then Allen could very well win the election.
11/8/2006 6:44:43 PM
va has a history of recountscheck the recounted election of 2004It almost changed the result
11/8/2006 6:45:53 PM
So you are going to use 1 recount as a historical trend?
11/8/2006 6:46:44 PM
so hes going to get a net amount of 7k votes?this is such a waste of time...i wont post in this thread anymore, until they finally do the recount...then i'll bump it when he wins
11/8/2006 6:47:56 PM
I never said that. First you should understand what people are arguing before you attempt to argue with them.
11/8/2006 6:49:14 PM
well then tell me how this is not a waste of tax payers moneyif he isnt going to get the 7k votes, then why waste the tax payers money
11/8/2006 6:51:18 PM
^^ agree with nutsmackerAlso I think that if it was Webb down by 7k you wouldn't say it was a waste of moneydont be a hypocrypt[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 6:52 PM. Reason : ]

For some reason or another they haven't been counted yet. I can't answer for that. And as I said, if they are a majority CIV or MIL then the difference will be much less and the result of a recount could change who the winner is.
11/8/2006 6:56:32 PM
ok well under those conditions(people voted but for some reason their votes have not been counted yet, even though polls are closed) then i agree to a recount
11/8/2006 7:03:22 PM

I'LL TELL YOU WHO IS SMART, PEOPLE THAT TABULATE RESULTS BEFORE ABSENTEE VOTES HAVE NOT BEEN COUNTED YET[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 7:06 PM. Reason : .]
11/8/2006 7:05:47 PM
usually in most states absentee votes are not counted until 1-7 days after the electionsome states have rules on when they have to be counted...I need to dig on the VA rules
11/8/2006 7:07:34 PM
so thread maker thinks CNN is in charge of calling the election and they're just hold out on virginia for publicity?AHAHHAAAHA
11/8/2006 7:20:49 PM
^Someone obviously didn't see when Fox news was the first station to "call Florida for Bush" (coincidentally, a Bush relative was working on the Fox news team for that broadcast) which then in turn caused all the other stations to dogpile minutes later and "call Florida for Bush" which THEN in turn made Gore seem like a sore loser instead of being on equal footing with Bush.
11/8/2006 7:58:20 PM
http://www.ncsl.org/programs/legman/elect/absentearly.htmok so in VA the absentee ballots should have been counted...hmmmm
