Talk about being a sore loser; Tom Delay, former Republican House Majority leader, said after yesterday's Democratic sweep of the house:"The Democrats didn't win," he said, "Republicans lost."Hmmmm......Is it just me, or are they the same thing?

Well it is just you. What he's saying is that it wasn't that democrats won because they are such a great option, it is that people were fed up with republicans and they lost out because of it.This is simple logic, but for a stupid alias, I bet you do have trouble.Never played a sport, huh?[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 11:25 AM. so wait, if you only have 2 choices, and you choose one because you don't like the other, that doesn't count as the one you chose winning?don't be sore losers, guys.and no, I'm not back. I just really wanted to gloat
11/8/2006 11:39:22 AM
werent plenty of people like "well i dont know what the democrats have to offer, but anything is better than what we have now"
11/8/2006 11:41:38 AM
I'm not being a sore loser.Lets say you have a choice to die by hanging or being eaten by rats and you don't choose hanging...Do you like eaten by rats?I just pwnt you.
11/8/2006 11:42:07 AM
some of the people that died on 9/11 loved jumping out of skyscrapersits not like they just didnt want to die by fire
11/8/2006 11:44:36 AM
I wonder if he's going to come back to tell me that I'm right?
11/8/2006 11:45:30 AM
He's right, democrats didn't win, and republicans lost, and america won.
11/8/2006 12:00:53 PM

11/8/2006 12:08:29 PM
Twista, you better get on the "it was a botched joke" spin immediately
11/8/2006 12:09:22 PM
haha...keep in mind those taxes are going to PAY for that war.
11/8/2006 12:09:32 PM
no they'll probably pay for some art museums and other pork bullshit

when incumbents lose, they almost always lose as opposed to the other side winning. elections are retroactive referendums on the incumbents ability to govern.
11/8/2006 12:10:53 PM
^Very correct. This has actually happened to every president in history except Clinton (the 6th year itch). The reason it didn't happen to Clinton was because he already got pwned during his 2nd year when the Republican Revolution happened. He could lose any seats, because he'd already lost so many.

Ha, whatever. A win's a win. People always have the option of NOT VOTING to show their lack of support for both parties; instead they DID VOTE for Democrats. Take it like men, boys.
11/8/2006 12:29:41 PM
I actually wanted the dems to win the house, so you really don't have to worry about me being a sore loser. But you bring up a good point, what were the turnout numbers like this time around?
11/8/2006 12:37:39 PM
Well the difference between democrats and republicans from my perspective is this:With republicans, my taxes stay even and the government spends an assload. With dems: My taxes rise, and the government spends an assload.
11/8/2006 12:56:42 PM
You must be mistaken, the taxes only rise on Bill Gates, they promised meUnless you also mean capital gains tax (which the dems BETTER extend)
11/8/2006 1:02:47 PM
why in the hell would you WANT capital gains tax?
11/8/2006 1:08:19 PM
^
11/8/2006 1:11:24 PM
oh sorry, I thought you guys were privy to tax law.I was referring to the capital gains tax rate reduction that is set to run out in 2010.Capital gains tax will resume being at ordinary income tax rates after that time.
11/8/2006 1:23:42 PM
bush just said that "iraq had a big part" of some of the races, but that lots of democratic candidates had "really strong campaigns" and "turn out the vote" campaigns on the dem side.
11/8/2006 1:37:41 PM
And?
11/8/2006 1:38:22 PM
just sayin'. a different point of view from delay. that's all.
