I thought you said the Republicans would maintain control of the house.I guess your punk ass is now pwnt

*crickets* *crickets* They must be starting to run out of room under the rocks they are hiding in. We should have raised a tissue fund for Hooksaw, Trikk, Randy and their ilk.

i'm not crying, im getting ready for next time, and the return of true conservatism.you're the one jumping up and down like a little girl over this.
11/8/2006 2:00:06 AM
You are damn right I am jumping up and down. It shows that Americans are finally coming to realize they don't have to be the sheep and pawns of the Pubs and W. It seems like YOU are the one who is out of touch with Americans.
11/8/2006 2:02:47 AM
the american people will want economic freedom so bad after you're done running up taxes and expanding the welfare state, they'll vote for conservatives so fast (notice i said CONSERVATIVES, not REPUBLICANS, get it right) it will make your head spin.
11/8/2006 2:05:11 AM
Yeah, I actually heard that was first on their agenda....raising taxes.... Stop sucking Dick Chaney's dick for a second and realize that any attempt to "raise taxes" would be vetoed. What is more likely to happen would be a revsion of W.'s tax cuts to the wealthy which I am all in favor of. But of course you and Rush will try and spin it as a raise in taxes.

11/8/2006 2:22:06 AM
the goal should be to LOWER taxes in all cases.
11/8/2006 2:24:10 AM
^^ Duke come on now. Okay, fine, if you feel better seeing the top 1% of the wealthiest Americans getting having some of their lovely tax breaks reduced as a tax hike, fine. But what is being missed is the likelihood that tax breaks will be given to the majority of the working force, the middle class.
11/8/2006 2:29:17 AM
by reducing the size of the government apparatus (cutting welfare programs that do no good, for one)
11/8/2006 2:35:24 AM
Or government spending? Oh wait!
11/8/2006 2:39:40 AM
Hey, I will admit it.I thought that the GOP would hold the house too. I am more than a little suprised.I have 2 trains of thought going through my head right now.Train 1...I am scared to death that the Dems are going to push Bush into some sort of withdrawl in Iraq. The left has simply gone fanatical and I do not think that they will listen to reason on this.I am scared to death because I know what is going to happen. I know that the terrorist will come after us on our land in a way like we have never before seen.I am also very worried that this result may mean that Iran WILL be allowed nukes. And if they get them, I feel certain that they will give them to terrorist to detonate in the US.If that happens..this battle is going to grow FAR larger in the world than it is right now.I am talking draft......a LOT more bloodshed on our shores and FAR more loss of American life than we have seen since WWII.Train 2....I think that the main reason that The GOP took over in 94 was due to a backlash from Clinton. The GOP has drifted and needed to get their chains yanked.Speaking from the right...The seeming unwillingness and/or inability to bring any fire to the table has been maddening.I feel pretty certain that Pelosi is going to be unable to reign in her side. I doubt, from her history, that she will even try.In fact, I have a feeling, especially based on the way that they were acting before the election, that they will feel like making a real mark very quickly. We have already gotten promises from the soon the be chair of Ways and Means that all tax cuts..every single one (Including the 1000 dollar per child tax credit) is gone. For a person making 30K a year, that translates into another 2K a year. You can not hide 2K a year.....people will notice. And I do not see anybody being happy that a person making over 200K a year is taking a hit when they are also taking it in the shorts. And anybody making the argument that the left will make sure that the new taxes get directed at only the rich.Uhhhhh..the 1000 per child tax credit went to EVERYBODY with a child. And I can assure you....people making 30K a year saw tax breaks. IF you consider that rich..well God Bless you.But let's say the rich do get their taxes raised.Ok....so now that millionaire pays an extra 200K in taxes. That is 200K not invested in the business....no business,no new jobs. No pay raises to keep people from going to that new business. You get the idea. (Hey.....that is how millionaire stay rich..they invest in business.)Now you may make the argument that Bush will Veto it. It will not be lost on people who proposed it though...even if Vetoed. And if I am not mistaken...some of the current cuts are set to sunset and needed to be re-voted on for an extension. That means that a simple Veto is not enough to block tax hikes.I have to ask though....Why would anybody cheer the party for winning that is about to do exactly what you do not want them to do...raise taxes....and then count on the party that just took the hit to block it?Dems have already said they will push for amnesty for the illegal aliens. In fact, the House was the only thing stopping this. If comes across the president's desk, it will get signed. Now maybe you feel like that is the right thing to do.Just remember that when you are having your ability to negotiate a decent wage hindered because there are illegals willing to do it for a lot less. And before you even scoff at that....Illegals are ALREADY getting in-state tuition and assistance. You do not get a college degree to go work in the fields.I can assure you that Gay marriage will be pushed. And I give it 6 months before impeachment hearings are under way.I can go on..but you get the idea.Maybe tonight was a blessing in disguise.I think that I miss-calculated...not the love for the left...but simply how disgusted the right is with where our party has gone.(Yes, I realize that a couple of hardcore conservatives lost too but I attribute that to a 2nd factor where the New England area is purging Red like the South and Central of the Country is starting to purge Blue.)I am hopeful that two things are about to happen. One is that people can get a real taste of what the true differences in parties are.It has been a long time. In fact, almost anybody under 30 probably does not know what it is like and I believe that the Dems have gone a lot farther left since they were last in power.Combine that with people's memory not lasting and I think that some people are in for a shock. Two is that the GOP has been sent to the woodshed and will come back the Conservatives ready for a fight that they should be.I would rather that the GOP be taken to the woodshed in a Mid-Term election than during a Presidential election also.So ..here is hoping that the Democrats simply be who they are and say what they believe. And here is hoping that the GOP learn the proper lessons from tonight.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 5:47 AM. OMG Gloom and Doom! Them Dems are going to run amuck! Queers and Beaners abound!!!

^^about taxes...this might be oversimplifying, but isnt simutaneously cutting taxes while drastically increasing spending essentially setting up inevitable rollback or tax increases in the future?
11/8/2006 6:59:38 AM
i guess....

I actually don't mind them getting those benefits, but
11/8/2006 7:36:33 AM
It's easy to say "that's stupid" without explaining why. Educate me here. The only point I can see you making is that those benefits could be extended to more people, but if those people are here legally then what's the true reason behind someone having a problem with them receiving said benefits.
