Mets or Yankees? If you pick the right one people will help you. If not you're out of luck.** wasn't Harris Teeter in CV the #1 singles spot on Citysearch a few years back btw?[Edited on November 6, 2006 at 8:24 PM. Reason : x]

The answer is Yankees.People around here associate with winners.

First Friday downtown, go to all the art galleries and drink wine/beer and mingle. Probably the best year-round civic event to meet intelligent, creative, non-retard people. It's the first friday of every month.Take a continuing education course at state at grad level and you will meet some kids that way.If you play sports, join a soccer/volleyball/tennis/golf league, there are adult leagues for pretty much anything you can think of around here (even Curling!). There are also pretty good running/biking group outings through All Star Bikes and Inside Out Sports, if that's more your thing. As for bars, YMMV, it seems like most of the bar scene around here is either a meat market or pretty cliquey. For music, pretty much anywhere around here is a good spot to find like minded people for whatever you enjoy. Or you can always venture over to Cat's cradle and the like in Chapel Hill
11/6/2006 8:25:44 PM
thanks. thats all i wanted to know, just some cool spots. i am 23, but already finished college. maybe take some classes later. but still like the college scene every once and a while. more laid back though

Everyone will have an opinion about it, but when I lived in NC (after I graduated) I liked the more non-college bars. I wasn't trying to hook up and just liked chill spots to drink with friends and I always liked going out in Cary more than Raleigh. Places like Hibernian or Fox & Hound.. or a sports bar like Woody's or Upper Deck.I have no idea where you're planning on living (downtown, near State, out in suburbs in Cary, etc, etc)...** didnt have to deal with Johnny-beer-muscles, kids trying to puke, and morons counting their shots.. [Edited on November 6, 2006 at 8:35 PM. Reason : just my opinion..]

football and basketball games. You'll meet plenty of people that way.
11/6/2006 8:37:48 PM
^^^I pretty much agree, problem is it seems most of the people who frequent the more chill spots are the married/taken crowd, or groups of friends just going out to have a chill time with their own peoples.Damned if you do, damned if you don't^^ I don't know where you are going, because the galleries I go to all have free wine/beer and food, the people are all laid back as hell and the art is extremely reasonably priced (if you are talking about ArtSpace, that place is a joke, don't even bother walking in there unless they have a special exhibition)[Edited on November 6, 2006 at 8:39 PM.
