I was thinking about flying to miami over winter break, I know the climate is somewhat tropical so does that mean it is warm enough to swim and the resorts will be active year round?

i was just there on south beach last weekend and the water was fantastic

i've been there in january as well, and while you have sun and warm days, the water cools quite a bit. you can still get in but you'll probably get cold pretty quick.

Weather's fine down there...it's the people you've got to watch out for. I'd much rather take a trip to europe for a little bit more. Or you can take a cruise for about the same price.

The water is alot warmer now than when I went in February. It was quite chilly and rainy when I went. I'm sure the rainy season has started around there. ??? I am not sure. Even if it is relatively warmer. 70's in Miami just don't feel warm.

Right now is the beginning of the dry season in south Florida. Its rained once in about 5 weeks and that was just a sprinkle the other day. Its in the 70s-80s and the water hasnt cooled down yet. It would be nice but watch out for the old timers. They are starting to show up from the north.

The pools are heated... and the alcohol is expensive.
