I actually support this thread...it'll be interesting to compare W/L records throughout the season
contrary to popular belief, Herb isn't the only reason I follow ASUi did get accepted to attend ASU, but chose to come to Raleigh insteadif you don't like the thread, don't click on iti didn't like the Detroit Tigers thread, so I chose to stay out of it

This thread is fine....how long until ASU fans are bitching about the pretty figure 8's they will be watching every night for eternity?
11/2/2006 10:44:02 AM
they are so stoked about Herbon the message boards all they can talk about is how "Herb's offense would have ranked 2nd in the PAC10 last year"
11/2/2006 10:46:57 AM
good for them, i wish herb the best and will be pulling for them
11/2/2006 10:49:04 AM
i have FSN-Arizona if anybody every wants to watch a game16 games are on FSN-A and one is on ESPNU
11/2/2006 10:50:53 AM
eh...I'd rather just talk about them....I dont want to bring back any bad memories of blown leads and teams that dont give a fuck
11/2/2006 10:56:21 AM
arizona state is in for a loooong season, and by long, i mean every game will feel like a lifetime. get ready for the dissapointment.
11/2/2006 10:59:20 AM
I have already heard some 'Fire Herb' comments from the ASU students. Gosh, I can't catch a break, can I?
11/2/2006 11:04:27 AM
they know whats coming
11/2/2006 11:05:12 AM
^ nah, the students love him. he's been seen in the student section at a few football games and he opened a practice to the students last weekit just sucks because the students don't have their own section AND they have to buy their tickets per game. not very smart if you want to get a big, loud student turnout
11/2/2006 11:06:42 AM
he is a nice guybut a disappointment as a coachi wonder how many extra years he'll stick arond there just because he is likeable
11/2/2006 11:11:50 AM
students dont get in for free?
11/2/2006 11:12:18 AM
seriously, why are you in this thread?there's no room for negativity here
11/2/2006 11:12:35 AM
i am bored at work

11/2/2006 11:26:21 AM
I wonder if Herb is taking measures to make sure the student like him more at ASU than they did there. I dont recall Herb sitting in the student section of any football games while he was here.Sounds like he's trying to start off on the right foot and make himself out to be a fan-friendly coach, which is a good move for him.I liked the guy and hope he does well at ASU, I just dont think he was the right fit here.
11/2/2006 11:28:06 AM
11/2/2006 11:30:22 AM
^yeah, seems like he learned a little bit from his mistakes here
11/2/2006 11:31:57 AM
what mistakes did he make?
11/2/2006 11:34:55 AM
aha
11/2/2006 11:36:03 AM
11/2/2006 11:47:37 AM
still talking shit about a coach that you helped run away?
11/2/2006 11:53:28 AM
Are you talking to me?What I said was not sarcasm, it was Herb's belief. I'm just pointing how drastically he's changed his tone now that he's at ASU.We could go 0-whatever this season, and I'll still be thrilled we have a different coach.
11/2/2006 11:59:19 AM
agreed
11/2/2006 11:59:53 AM
just because he didn't go to State and wasn't raised on Tobacco Road, you think he didn't care about the UNC and Duke games?if so, you are a fucking retard
11/2/2006 12:02:11 PM
11/2/2006 12:04:21 PM
^^ You must not listen to post-game interviewers on 680amDude straight said that every game was of equal importance and he didn't feel any extra heat on himself for continutally rolling over dead for UNC/DukeI see how testy you are about Sendek, and I laugh. You can't deny that's "acting like" he cares about "all games" at ASU, but seriously denied that UNC/Duke games should be considered "a big deal" here since he knew he wasn't gonna win 'em.^ Notice "this season." I'll eventually want results, but I'd rather go 0-whatever THIS season than stay ranked #19 all season long just to bend right on over and take a big one in the 1st/2nd round of the Tourney.[Edited on November 2, 2006 at 12:05 PM. 11/2/2006 12:04:35 PM
i'm not excited about just having a new coach.i'm stoked b/c the entire coaching staff is NCSU alumni and show a lot of promise thus far
11/2/2006 12:06:04 PM
wha wha what???what potential?the potential to keep Sendek's recruits? the potential to keep Brackman around? the potential to get last names back on the jerseys?
11/2/2006 12:19:55 PM
When big baseball money is being thrown around, I don't think Herb staying would have kept Brackman on the court this year.
11/2/2006 12:44:06 PM
11/2/2006 12:44:19 PM
J.J. Hickson > herb's recruits
11/2/2006 12:49:53 PM
^ we have a winner.
11/2/2006 1:25:19 PM
^ we shall see. James Harden is just as hyped as Hickson...and the jury is still out on Eric Boateng
11/2/2006 3:21:34 PM
first game tonight. 9pm ETfollow the game on CSTV Gametrackerhttp://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/asu-m-baskbl-sched.html

You confused the hell out of me when you started talking about this yesterday. Pretty funny.
11/7/2006 10:29:57 AM
maybe you should be more interested in the state game tonightbut I assume herb still has his cock deeply buried inside your pharynx

^ maybe you're right - but that's the nature of rivalriesOSU-MichBoSox-YanksTobacco-Road basketball...are all unique rivalries - if a coach consistently loses those kinds of games, he'll get shit on - that's the way it is
11/7/2006 2:27:52 PM
hard fought win (58-53). ice cold shooting in the first half, but finally got Pendergraf (former PAC10 Freshman of the Year) going in the 2nd half.as soon as the young guys find their shot, they could really deadlyafter reading about it, it sounded like a typical "Herb coached game"...lots of 3 point attempts, ice cold shooting in the 1st half, great FT shooting, great defense, not enough looks to the big men down low and the also got outrebounded.i don't know whether to chalk it up to being the 1st game of the year or whether it's going to be a difficult season.
11/8/2006 1:09:47 AM
probably a little bit of both. go herb. go asu.
11/8/2006 1:15:02 AM
Let me be the first to say that what I'm about to say isn't a Herb-bashing statement, but a 100% honest to goodness truth about the man.58 pointsSame Herb, all over again. ASU fans are starting to snore already I'm sure.
11/8/2006 10:15:20 AM
It is going to be a long year. They are picked to finish second to last. It's amazing the upswing in recruiting go to the Scout.com page and look at the past recruiting classes. 2 stars with a 3 sprinkled in every year or two. Then for 2007 there is a 5, a 4, and a 3 on top of Boetang coming in.It's yet to be seen if he can COACH these guys but ASU is thrilled to have him regardless of any games this year.. sort of like the majority of State fans with Lowe even though we are likely to be horrid this year..
11/8/2006 10:17:41 AM
^^ Herb's teams, running Herb's offense, consistently dropped 80, 90 and at times 100 points in their early season games at NC State.but i still say the only reason people are happy to have gotten Lowe is that he's an alumni[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 10:25 AM. Reason : .]
