Know of any places to get your car weighed around here? Dump? Truck stop?

dump... they'll usually let you do it if you're nice...

^ not accurate at all though, i got out of my truck to sign the weigh ticket after dropping stuff off and it shoulda changed by 260 pounds, but it only went down 40

Do truck scales work?
10/31/2006 8:04:33 AM
the dump is as accurate as you are gonna get around here, unless you know someone with some corner weights..

If you attend a track day, most tracks have a scale on which you can weigh your car.

Just get on the scale yourself, record weight. Then pick up your car and hold it and record weight. Subtract second weight from first weight, then you'll have the weight of your car

Should have taken it to the fair, it would have only been a dollar or two

take it so a mulch or topsoil place, like seaside mulch, they will do it, and very accurate
10/31/2006 2:12:47 PM
^^^i did what you told me and my car weighs -2700 lbs
10/31/2006 2:18:41 PM
can you do it at a truck stop with the cat scales?
10/31/2006 2:22:09 PM
weigh it against a stonebecause stones and cars both sink in water
10/31/2006 4:47:04 PM
The DOT cops have this badass little 1inch tall bathroom scale. You drive one wheel at a time onto it, then add the weights. Then you go home and cry about a fucking $1000 weigh ticket.

i was going to suggest the DMV motor carrier enforcement cops if you know one
10/31/2006 8:47:45 PM
This will help you meet one.[Edited on October 31, 2006 at 9:00 PM. Reason : yea, I meant DMV not DOT, damn vodka]
10/31/2006 8:59:57 PM
so are you guys stupid, or did you just not read what i wrote.??
11/1/2006 5:36:42 AM
What's your problem? People are discussing methods other than what you mentioned.
11/1/2006 1:46:30 PM
yeah, methods of which are not available as easily as a dump site.
11/1/2006 1:47:18 PM
According to "69" the dump scales were at least 100lbs off. That's worthless.
11/1/2006 1:50:59 PM
according to 69...??yeah, because every dump site is off.just goto one and see.other than that, either you gonna know someone, or pay someone to get your shit weighed.
11/1/2006 1:51:58 PM
Nothing wrong with people brainstorming other options... just b/c you think something is the right way, or the only way, it doesn't mean that it is.
11/1/2006 1:59:37 PM
well duh weighing your car at the dump is the right way.
11/1/2006 2:12:50 PM
just go to the dump. When I weigh my car there it seems to be ballpark... within 30 or 40 pounds of the curb weight, which is where it should be anyway.
