obviously the insurgents are turning up the violence in the weeks before the election in order to turn the american people against the administration and persuade us to vote for the democrats.

Liberals are so compassionate and care so much about our troops. So much that they're ridiculing them by laughing at their death. JerryGarcia (not a very subtle name there, huh libbie?) is an example of this.

it really makes me mad how excited some people get about news like this. and i understand that they arent glad that troops are dying, but in their joy of the failures of this administration they forget that its at the cost of american lives. try not to let your zealousness overshadow the somberness of this news, its disgusting and really hurts your cause.

I wouldn't go that far. Reporting the status and celebrating death are two very different things.

well it is news, its important for people to know. i just dont like people that are glad they can use it to throw it in someones face. reporting it isnt celebrating it.

But you stand by and support those who do. Which makes you just as guilty as they. So dont pretend you are somehow above those tactics.

Go go false dichotomy. Everybody who questions any aspect of the war, the administration's policies, or military ethics = the same.

^^^no i do not, you stupid twat, im not going to let you paint me like that. i support apprehending terrorists. i support aiding our allies in doing so multilaterally, as we have done. i do not support tortue because i dont believe in lowering ourselves to the level of those we keep demonizing (for good reason, though demonize is such a harsh word), especially when we have made a commitment to human rights in the past. i'm talking about universal human rights, the sort of thing that this nation was founded on, so dont try to paint me into some lefty box here. i'm tired of people like you throwing John McCain under the bus for being anti-torture. I actually argued about this over the weekend (yeah, we were drunk tho) with a friend who doesnt mind torture. why should we lower ourselves to their level? what is wrong with apprehending, imprisoning, and bringing to justice? it's not some hippy bullshit, its what our contry was fucking founded on, and if you believed we had any sort of example to set to the rest of the world as the "city on a hill" or whatever, you'd realize how wrong it is for us to be doing this.

^^ Send a minimum of $25,000 to Charles A. Jones, Jr. I'll make sure it gets forwarded to the right Saint.

^^^ I do not believe our honourable troops are "torturing" people. It is not torture to interrogate.

cut the crap with the with me/against us dichotomy. You've already shown you don't care what anyone who isn't on your side of your dichotomy has to say, so I'm not even going to argue with you anymore.

Australia has a well defined plan for invasion and attack

Step 1: surrender.
Step 2: beg US for help.

they stole it from the French btw

Ok, so here's essentially the argument we've been having then:

person a: we should not engage in torture or any cruel acts of punishing/interrogating prisoners.

person b (let's call him wolfpack2k): terrorists have no rights and should be subject to such methods of interrogation/punishment.

a: even if they don't, it should be a universal ideal not to punish them as so based on christian morality.

b: no, it SHOULD be a universal ideal to punish them as so based on the same morality. it's ok within the boundaries of the bible.

a: your interpretations of specific passages are suspect and you have created a dichotomy of for/against us, whereby sayig that those who are not against us are not against torture.

b: but we don't torture, so you're the bad one by even arguing based on the assumption we do.

wtf?
