I want to go look at some puppies - where are some stores that have 'em?

The Pet Pad Cary. On weekends a lot of shelters will be at Petsmart and Petco too though, and those are needy animals.

Yo my homie don't buy puppies from a pet shop. They are messed up and there are plenty of other puppies out there that need homes. Adopt mofucka. Also, most puppies from pet shops come from puppy mills, info in teh links. Some info:http://members.aol.com/KARENKATO/petstore.htmlSome pictures:http://www.atourhands.com/pupmills.htmlhttp://www.darkrose-bds.com/kennel/milpics.htmhttp://www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com/photos.htmlAnd these are just off google so could probably find more stuff. Just somethin to think about before you get a puppy.

be careful when adopting if you need a certain sizei'm all about adopting, im not that big into the idea of getting a dog thats expensive (just because its purebred, i mean), however ive had my share of times when I adopt a puppy and the people say "oh...she won't be but probably about 30 lbs" and it ends up being 70-80!!it's also hard to find small dogs at shelters (if i'm going to adopt i'm going to a high kill shelter).....this is the reason i did end up buying my dog-size reasonsmy apartment is WAY to small for anything over 30-40 lbsand petpad in cary gets almost all of their dogs from a place in kansas....not ALL places get of their dogs from mills- there are people who buy dogs and care about their welfare.[Edited on October 28, 2006 at 4:37 PM. Reason : that sounded condescending (sp?)][Edited on October 28, 2006 at 4:39 PM. Reason : and yeah-petsmart in cary almost ALWAYS has puppies on the weekends]

^^they stopped having them out at the farigrounds if that's what youre talking aboutcan't remember why-i'm sure it has something to do either with the poor dogs being out there all day without water and whatnot, or they manner in which they are bred (as homeboy said about puppymills)[Edited on October 28, 2006 at 4:42 PM. Reason : ^]

Oh, I would never ever buy from anybody but a small-time breeder... we just wanted to go satisfy our puppy craving by looking at some.We went to Pet Pad in Cary and all the puppies were zonked out - do they put some kind of medicine in their drink? It was really creepy how lethargic they were. I always thought puppies were high energy

^i noticed that tooi figured it was because they were in those little glass cages or whatevergotta suck

My husband and I go to the Pet Pad fairly regularly to pick up pet supplies because they're close by and 3 members of our little zoo were aquired there. The puppies are usually pretty high energy and ready to play. We try to go in mid-afternoon before all of the parents come in with their brats after school to let them play with the animals. The only time that we've noticed the puppies absolutely wiped out are right before closing (probably due to said brats) and on delivery days. The new arrivals always look absolutely pathetic when they're first put in their cages.
