Good Eats is the only thing worth watching on the Food Network.

^ I've been getting into the Bobby Flay show, Throwdown.. Typically I don't like those "competition" food shows but this one is pretty good. And I like some of Bobby Flays other shows.

have you tried the fried chicken recipe? we tried it the other night, and I am not sure 1/8 of an inch of oil is enough, took a long time to cook, and skin was a bit burned by the time we got the chicken cooked through
10/26/2006 12:47:14 PM
the pork episode was the best

Alton Brown is the man.

10/26/2006 4:58:59 PM
he's talkin bout leeks
10/26/2006 7:09:24 PM
he says "uh" and "um" way too much. for example: "the, uh, fried chicken is, uh best when fresh, but, uh, it can be enjoyed, uh, cold, uh, the next day, um, too."
10/26/2006 7:52:47 PM
i noticed that too. it shows he is constantly thinking while he's talking.
10/26/2006 7:56:54 PM
He doesn't use a teleprompter. He occasionally does long zoom shots outdoors just to prove it.He gets a little too close to the camera, and they use a little too much vaseline on the lens. Think softcore porn, but with cooking. The puppets are gay as hell, although I'm told he's not. Go figure.[Edited on October 26, 2006 at 8:06 PM. Reason : .]

Alton Brown did a book signing a few years ago, I think it was in Raleigh. My mom's still talking about it. I like his show. I never cook anything, but it's entertaining to watch.

I always wanted to do a show for Food network where I would travel to colleges and visit local hang outs/restaurants/food festivals.... Or just see how different kids cook Ramen Cuz I swear more college kids watch that channel than 35+ year olds. [Edited on October 30, 2006 at 8:57 PM. Reason : bleh]

I would also like to see an Iron Chef battle with Ramen. It'd be interesting to make a dessert out of it. Maybe make some Haystacks, and instead of Lo Mein, they use Ramen.
