rogers is a lying mofo, but i like his style
10/22/2006 11:48:53 PM
Fuck him. Damn bipolar piece of shit.Ever since he went off on a harmless cameraman I have had no respect for him.
10/23/2006 12:04:29 AM
I dont know ... that was so fucking blatant. there's no way you're that big of a moron to think the 900 cameras' can't see your palm at somepoint.benefit of the doubt.although it did look strikingly like pinetar
10/23/2006 12:25:39 AM
10/23/2006 12:27:33 AM
like Krukie was saying on Baseball Tonight, pitchers baby their arms and hands so much it's amazing that he wouldn't have noticed a HUGE "clump of dirt" on his pitching handsour grapes or not, Kenny is a motherfucker and I hope he flies into a highrise apartment building
10/23/2006 12:29:04 AM
what would pine tar do to a ball? (serious question)[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 12:32 AM. Reason : space]
10/23/2006 12:32:26 AM
Extra grip... extra spin
10/23/2006 12:33:55 AM
^gotcha, makes sense
10/23/2006 12:34:38 AM
just about any alteration to the rawhide will change the flight of the ballscuffing the leather, spitting/wetting down the ball, pine tar, vasolinenot as much for a pure fireballer as it would for a Zito or a Wakefield
10/23/2006 12:36:41 AM
Pine tar in cold or wet conditions allows a pitcher to better grip the ball, allowing for a faster pitch, or in most cases a sicker junk pitch (ie. slider, curve, screw...). It has a similar effect as filing (sp?) or carving out the laces...but pine tar is a less obvious way than a file or blade.....Overall - it gives the pitcher an advantage......go Cardinals
10/23/2006 12:37:54 AM
i really doubt he would have made it that obvious
10/23/2006 12:38:31 AM
yea it was def pine tar because if it was dirt he would have just wiped it off on his pants bc it would be annoying to have wet mud on your throwing hand
10/23/2006 12:38:46 AM
and you know him the best
10/23/2006 12:39:21 AM
I think it was shit from where he stuck his thumb up his ass before the game.
10/23/2006 12:39:58 AM
i think it was the Jeri Curl juice that Magglio's motherfucking beaner ass uses
10/23/2006 12:43:18 AM
aha
10/23/2006 12:43:47 AM
hahahaha
10/23/2006 12:46:53 AM
beaner is a funny word
10/23/2006 12:47:29 AM
the post was just so full of anger
10/23/2006 12:48:15 AM
I like the word beaner, its funny to generalize a culture based on what they eat.The Japanese called the Koreans "garlic eaters" back in the day.true story.
10/23/2006 12:55:49 AM
so on sportscenter they just showed that evidently he had the same clump of dirt during the other games he has pitched
10/23/2006 1:13:17 AM
CHEATER
10/23/2006 1:16:58 AM
OMG DON'T SWEAT ON THE BALL BECAUSE THAT MIGHT BE CONSIDERED A SPITTER!!!!ONEone oOne elevensessecondbreakfast
10/23/2006 1:26:41 AM
hahaha, holy hell, thats sooo fuckin noticeable, i just saw it. Definitely not a clump of dirt....its right on the area below the thumb. Easy access to be rubbed by the tips of both your pointer and middle finger which are the two areas one needs to have optimal grip for breaking pitches. hahahaha, good going Rogers
10/23/2006 1:40:11 AM
Dirt's not shiny.
10/23/2006 2:41:21 AM
did he think noone would see this?what with all the hd and what have you.
10/23/2006 4:03:47 AM
Screencap?
10/23/2006 7:31:24 AM
have you checked espn.com?
10/23/2006 7:46:25 AM
so, what's the penalty?suspension?fining?expulsion?being banned from post-career acolades?
10/23/2006 8:21:07 AM
^^if that is a pic from the ALCS, then he needs to be banned from baseball for a long period of timeThat is just blatant cheating.
10/23/2006 8:50:23 AM
why does larussa seem to not give a shit is what i want to know
10/23/2006 9:02:10 AM
cahoots i saycahoots
10/23/2006 9:03:53 AM
^^Larussa and Leyland are pretty good friends from waaay back, he probably doesn't want to stir up any shit that would affect their friendship....
10/23/2006 9:04:51 AM
^^^They have worse "dirt" on him?
10/23/2006 9:07:06 AM
10/23/2006 9:07:47 AM
LaRussa probably isnt making a big deal about it bc he washed it off before the 2nd inning and still 2 hit them.. now I bet the Yankees and A's are pissed because he pitched entire games like that
10/23/2006 9:39:29 AM
Tony really screwed the pooch on this onebut, now that the game is over, there's really nothing he can do. that's why he isn't making a big deal out of it
10/23/2006 9:40:43 AM
it looks like he's got dogsh*t on his hands. definitely not dirt... i vote pine tar
10/23/2006 9:41:10 AM
you're allowed to type dogshit on TWW[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 9:43 AM. Reason : ,]
10/23/2006 9:43:18 AM
^ ok, well then dogshit then.[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 9:44 AM. Reason : .]
10/23/2006 9:44:26 AM
For timswar:If he was caught with it during the game he would have been immediately ejected and suspended for 10 games.
10/23/2006 10:53:29 AM
they cant do shit about itand from that picture it looks like last night, because that looks like the world series logo on the side of his hat
10/23/2006 11:07:34 AM
10/23/2006 11:12:29 AM
haha he just magically had dirt on his hand inthe same place in 2 different games
10/23/2006 11:50:46 AM
so can they do anything about this?
10/23/2006 11:53:22 AM
they had a third picture from the ALDS with the same type of "dirt" on his left index finger. you could see it everytime he went to his brim..and no . now they can't do anything about it[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 11:54 AM. Reason : .]
10/23/2006 11:54:01 AM
It was funny b/c during the first inning they were framing him face up before almost every pitch.. and everytime he was doing this thing where he would put his hand up near his face and 'blow in it' (like he was trying to warm it up) - but he was also clearly rubbing his fingers around on the hand itself.Every single pitch. Then, he wasn't doing it anymore once they asked him to wash it off
10/23/2006 12:09:52 PM
Looks like he whiped his ass with his hand. I don't have a problem with it, it just seems like a bunch of bull to me.
10/23/2006 12:12:28 PM
6 innings of clean hands and still a 2 hitter, quit cryingplus everyone does it, hes just doesnt hit it as well
10/23/2006 12:27:09 PM
He gave up 2 hits and 3 walks over 8 innings.first inning (with dirt/whatever on his hand) he gave up 1 hit and 1 walk.then over the next seven innings 1 hit and 2 walks. His stats were better over the last seven innings anyways, so I there's really no need to make a deal about it.Also, any of you that have played baseball know that you sweat and get dirt on you and it becomes slick looking like that. I haven't ever had that happen in that spot, and not when I was pitching, but hey, it could happen...
