Any word on campus about this?http://students.ncsu.edu/senate/bills.php?lid=37&s=06

T. Greg Doucette is TGD if i'm not mistaken. It'd be interesting to see how he responds to the criticism of this sort of thing.

isn't Gunzz leading the effort for this?
10/20/2006 6:45:46 PM
This is not where student funding needs to go
10/20/2006 6:54:20 PM
i could think of a lot worse things my student fees have been spent on
10/20/2006 7:01:20 PM
No need to continue the trend though
10/20/2006 7:01:41 PM
okayi could think of a lot worse far more pointless things my student fees have been spent on
10/20/2006 7:02:49 PM
nothing says this would have to be funded from student fees. i think this is a good idea.
10/20/2006 7:35:17 PM
Where else do you think funding will come from?
10/20/2006 7:36:28 PM
^^the proposition is that over half of it will be paid for by student fees
10/20/2006 7:39:34 PM
hell no, im glad i wont be here to see this shit if it does happenhow do you compare being a minority of any sort to being a faggot
10/20/2006 7:46:25 PM
This sounds pretty gay But beyond that, I don't think we need to spend more public funding with programs to compartmentalize us in the name of "diversity"This does nothing but further segment the student population.
10/20/2006 7:53:53 PM
So they "strongly encourage" establishing this. Any other word on whether or not the university would actually do this or would they just tell people to go to Berkeley instead?

I am not against an LGBT Center per se. Like bgmims, in general, my concern is that these type of centers mostly help to further balkanization of the student body and ultimately society.
10/20/2006 8:50:07 PM
T. Greg Douchette har har har... i am both original and mature.
10/20/2006 8:50:42 PM
this is fucking ridiculousif the LGBT want to conduct this on their own, then fine. but to use student funds for this nonsense?have a car wash, do a bake sale, raise money ... student funds do not belong in this.
10/20/2006 8:53:33 PM
NUKE'M ALL
10/20/2006 9:01:54 PM
lmao is TGD on the 10 year plan?
10/20/2006 9:33:44 PM
In full agreement, i'm not against a center, but it's a dumb idea. It's another way to compartmentalize, and another waste of funds that should be spent on something that will benefit all students. That, and it isn't going to help any sort of overall non-acceptance at state, if anything i can see a lot of resentment b/c of the center (not me, just saying).
10/20/2006 9:37:14 PM
IF THE GAYS GET A CENTER, THE JEWS SHOULD GET ONE
10/20/2006 9:43:06 PM
at least a center like this would make it easy for fags to gloryhole in the stalls
10/20/2006 9:45:09 PM
I propose a Celtic Center at State to support my ethnic background. Who's in?
10/20/2006 9:50:13 PM
TKEshultz is my hero. That's exactly how I feel.

attn unc, we've found some of you
10/20/2006 10:24:06 PM
I love gay people but I think this is a dumb idea. Making a building just for one group of people is not a fair practice and does nothing but single out LGBT people even more, which does not promote acceptance.
10/20/2006 10:24:16 PM
itll be bombed if it gets builtdont do it, dont waste our money
10/20/2006 10:31:16 PM
10/20/2006 11:03:27 PM
I think its fun when the gay community compares themselves and their situation with African Americans during the civil rights movement...
10/20/2006 11:06:36 PM
5/10
10/21/2006 2:28:14 AM
i'm all about gay people or whatever, but this is a WASTE of student fees.
10/21/2006 2:29:57 AM
10/21/2006 3:25:38 AM
It seems unecessary to have a center be established on the biases on ones sexual orientation. Especially when academic student fees are meant to further the individuals education, rather than cater to social concerns.
10/21/2006 3:40:35 AM
will we pay for thier strobe light and dj too?wtf, do we really need student centers? do we really need a african american student center in addition to a minority center? why are you going to waste money on this shit?
10/21/2006 3:56:09 AM
in this day and age, one student center is all that is needed.I wouldn't be against having 'office' space to base special interest organizations out of. but having separate centers is ridonkulous.
10/21/2006 8:26:00 AM
I don't think we need to have a whole center for this. See reasons above.
10/21/2006 8:46:08 AM
I am going to make a very politically incorrect chit-chat thread about this. Be on the lookout.
10/21/2006 11:31:29 AM
who gives a shit. let them have a center. big fucking deal, so some of our fees go to it. OH NOOOOOOO!!!!! your lives will not change. our fees go to all kinds of shit we all don't agree with or even know about. who fucking cares. its going to happen no matter how homophobic you act(errrr....i mean, how worried about your fees you act)[Edited on October 21, 2006 at 11:38 AM. I fully support the NCSU BGLA, but I really don't see the need for a special center. what will it offer that is not already offered? I used to attend a school with a very active, very visible BGLA and never did they ever propose anything like this. They looked moreso to actually be part of the normal campus environment as a student organization aimed at promoting true awareness. If they have one, thats fine, but they should probably raise their own money for it, or get donations from community organizations/businesses.Hah, the first guy I saw listed as a member of that facebook group was on my basketball team in middle school [Edited on October 21, 2006 at 11:39 AM. ^^^^ People should be able to speak up any time they feel their fees are not being well spent. Not wise in my opinion to advocate sitting in silence and letting people do whatever they want. Ya know, cause historically that's always been the way to bring forth change/fairness/innovation of any sort.... Nothing to do w/ homophobia at all.[Edited on October 21, 2006 at 11:53 AM. Its a waste of money. A pedestrian bridge across western would be a better investment.
10/21/2006 11:56:14 AM
FAGGITS AT NCSU? DIDN'T THEY APPLY TO UNC? WHAT THE FUCKI hope this gets built and you assholes get all riled up so that you may be exposed for the pathetic fucks you are."Fuckin' right we're intolerant, and we intend to fuckin' keep it that way. Those fags already got UNC!"

hey there's a bunch of kids at State that are into country music. Whether they were born liking country or made the decision, they outnumber the amount of gays at State. AND, because of their musical orientation, they fear for their safety amongst hip-hop, rock, and electronic music fans.COUNTRY MUSIC CENTER FTW.
