Topic is probably already been made but I'm making a new one. Need teacher/class recommendations to fill my final tech elective requirement. Choose between the courses listed below. Keep in mind I'm graduating in May so I want the class with the least amount of thinking/confusion/headache. The workload I can handle tho . CE 214 ENGR MECH STATICS CE 215 ENGR MECH DYNAMICS MAE 206 ENGINEERING STATIC MAE 208 ENGINEER DYNAMICS MAE 301 ENGR THERMODYN I MAE 302 ENGR THERMODYN II MAE 308 FLUID MECHANICS I Didnt include IE or NE cuz they dont fit in my schedule. Already taking MSE 201 in the spring.

Haha nevermind. The only class that fits into my schedule is CE 214. Although I would like recommendations on which class is easier between: IE 311, CE 214, and MAE 206.

CE214 with Nauhe's a good teacher and the class is real easy

MAE 206.. i don't know how civil classes are thoughie311 sucks

^ why does it suck?

ce214 and mae206 are essentially the same course, just a difference of teaching styles really. Ce usually has better teachers than mae imho and would probably be the easiest. Dunno bout IE311 although I'm pretty sure it would be tougher than the above two, since the 200 classes are the simple basics of engineering. Was gonna say take Parish since he's one of the best profs I've ever had, but I think he will only teach ce216 dynamics.[Edited on October 19, 2006 at 6:04 PM. Reason : parish]

Yea I've had a couple people tell me in the past that CE tends to be easier than MAE I just wanted to find out what some more people thought

CE214 definately

i've already taken statics and need one more tech elective, how is Thermodynamics?

If you take Thermo, take it with Boles. It took me a little while to get used to working with pressures, volumes, specific heat, etc. but after I got the hang of it, it was not too difficult. It does require a decent bit of work though so if you want an easy A, take something else. Overall I thought the class was very good.
