the sabres really aren't playing that well. they're playing ok, it's just that the flyers left their defense in philadelphia.

they're sucking hard.

i hate afinogenov more than any other player in the league. one of my favorite things in all of sports is when they put him on screen, i say, "well too bad he can never finish" and then 5 seconds later the commentator says the exact same thing, i love it.

I have no love for Buffaslugs, but I have Vanek and Afinogenov on my fantasy team.

Last night, they combined for 3 goals, 6 assists, and a +9.

you seriously picked Afinogenov? that guy usually sucks, he spins around and does a bunch of moves and shit, but just never finishes it out.

afini-fuck-off as one of my friends and i affectionately call him.

ps... wtf with the blues sucking so much balls. With Guerin, McKee, and Legace i expected much better play.

sabres look good this year. starting off much like the hurricanes did last year.

But what is with the new jerseys! they are awful. I thought I didn't care for the switch to black and red, but this messed up looking logo takes the cake. I will not buy a jersey with that logo. Sticking with the old blue and gold, i guess.

Afinogenov looks like he's gotten better about executing, hasn't he? I certainly hope so with Dumont gone.

Also found this on the sabres site and thought people here would appreciate it:

Who is Buffalo's bigger rival?
Toronto 61% (2723)
Carolina 39% (1721)

Haha. Oops. I read this too quickly at first and I read it as "What is up with New Jersey? They are just awful" and it made me a sad panda.

I picked Vanek, but Afinogenov was one of those automatic selections. Vanek is my homeboy, though, and so is Anze Kopitar.

It's going to be funny looking back on those playoff predictions and laughing.
The season is still somewhat early. You never know which teams hit long hot streaks and which teams doing well now will succumb to injuries.

especially considering he was the guy right in front of the net who was like "duhhhh" with the puck right underneath him in game 7 of the ECF last year. Brindamour capitilizes, and the rest is history.

You won't see a more bizarre goal in the NHL this season than the OT winner from tonight's Columbus/Minnesota game.

The puck went up Wes Walz's pant leg as he was being checked into the net and over the goal line. Game over.
