yeah, just turn in the paper before the exams period is over (12/19). If you havent run your topic by him already then do so. It is not required however.

That was like three of us htere 90% of the time with some other regulars filling in the other 3 seats each day.
How much time did it take you to get all your research for that paper?

yeah 3-5 of us.

my research involved a couple of journal papers from IEEE Trans. on Comm, and two from the Am. Journal of Optics, plus one book on fiber optic comm from the library. I made a couple block diagrams and a few matlab plots for my paper.

he said to come by this morning to check it out, but he was nowhere to be found.

muth was the easiest class i had. i never showed up after the first week and got an A. Basically the trick is to run your paper by him as much as possible so he knows it wasn't a last minute effort and then he'll give you an A on the paper. You should have a lab average of an A easy, and he rarely assigns homework, and when he does its easy. I wish he taught all classes

I learned plenty. Being able to retain the knowledge and use it is a different story. Its like being exposed to a lot of cool stuff.

title of my paper is "a survey of terrestrial and free space based optical communication systems". 7 pages is easy stuff...just get some books and some journal articles and summarize everything logically.

he's in his office a lot this week, esp on the morning side of the day. just pop in.

I told him last week that I was going to do my paper on Erbium doped optical amplifiers in metro networks and he said 4 or 5 other people were already doing that....what the hell? So im now writing it on holey fibers.

On another note he said there were 20 people in the class, which I would have never guessed as there was not more than 8 people in there all year.

If you haven't spoken to him about your paper, I recommend trying to review it with him today. He give you a couple of good pointers on the paper and is pretty cool about it.
