Can I get that defered? I am not strongly opposed to Jury Duty or anything, but it's the Wednesday during the first exam week and I have 2 Tuesday, 1 Wednesday morning, 1 Thursday... so I am thinking I'd rather not screw up my last semester of exams here.Do I need some kind of letter from my professor or NC State?

If you are in college you do not have to go...

I didn't know that

If you are in college you do have to go, unless you send a letter to the court requesting a deferral. You simply tell them you are in school that day...that is enough to get you out.

You can get it deferred for doing something related to college/school, whether you need a letter or proof depends on the county. They keep calling me every year for my parents home county instead of where i actually live and they're always like "oh, you dont really live here, okay, right" and call me up 12 months later. :pSend the letter back if you have time, or in my case as they would send it to my parents and I wouldnt get it for a month, call the clerk of the court and explain the situation.[Edited on October 15, 2006 at 4:18 PM. mine is for wake county... so the whole not in the area thing doesn't work for mebut I would imagine I'd still get defered because I am in school, as you all have mentioned
